According to Travel Math it's four and a half hours to Cyprus from Heathrow and just over six hours to Cape Verde.
I really envy you ladies who can still travel - I'm finding it increasingly difficult to even do my trip to my favourite place - something I used to do at least once a month thinking nothing of the 360 mile round trip. I'd often go just for the day but now so many worries and "what ifs" creep in that I don't go.

changes can be scary, even when we want them

Oh Taz! I drove this morning for the first time in months
......... had to go buy DH some presents. Was aware of how much traffic/noise/idiots there are on the roads even more this morning!
4 hours is a lot shorter than 6
plus booking in time and waiting for the cases at the other end.

I don't mind waiting for the cases because it means the flight is over.
What sort of 'what ifs'?

Mainly "what ifs" about health. It seems to take longer to get over even ordinary bugs now I have reached late fifties so it puts me off going especially as I like to go alone. It's part of generalised anxiety disorder. It's always there but if everything in life is going ok then I can keep it under but if other things become stressful then the underlying part rears up again.

I think we build up a resistance as we age, so you will 'grow out of' this Taz
. For a while in my 40s I seemed to have cold after cold after
but within 2 years of my 50s I didn't have any. You are feeling the effects of your current long-term infection and the 'bug'. Once that is over you will pick up

Can't see how that works but thanks for the optimism CLKD? How old do I have to be to "grow out of it"

Once you get into your 80s you get constipated, well men seem to do

On the plus side your memory will have gone so you won't remember what you were anxious about.

Well, I was in my early 50s
.......... as for memory, didn't we have a thread about that here somewhere
or did I imagine that too!
Off again at the weekend, Duty Visit this time
- you will have Peace and Quiet for a few days

Sounds lovely but .....ooh aren't you going to be cold in the camper? Maybe you have a heater as it's a luxury one
!! We had our last campervan trip at half term - end of October and don't fancy it at this time of year - but ours is old school....! Have fun
