Ah, know where, I think. A nice quiet bay. We loved it there, nice place to chill out. Some lovely little bars and restaurants too.

OK, all booked up. We are going to Croatia in September, we are staying in a hotel in Porec & it is right on the waterfront by the harbour. It is a stroll from the old roman town. There are some lovely little bars & restaurants there if I remember rightly, where we can sit & watch the posh yachts moor.
We can get a day trip ove the Adriatic Sea to Venice which we hope to do.
Oh I can't wait now.

Lovely!   I actually believe I could live there - I just loved the whole feel of it.  Have a fantastic time and let us know all about it.

When we were in Cavtat we got talking to a woman who was hurrying around the headland. She was on a cruise ship which had dropped them off at Dubrovnik and they'd had a short coach ride down to Cavtat.  She asked us a few questions about Cavtat and I asked her why she was in such a hurry and she said "because it is so beautiful and I WISH we had longer here.  I am trying to see as much of it as I can before the coach leaves again.  I don't want to leave actually."    She said when she got home she was going to book a holiday in Cavtat and I often wonder whether she did. :)

Mostly packed, but just been hit with a bit of a bomb shell. My daughter now can't make up her mind if she is coming with us or not. She has till 10pm to make up her mind. She thinks she may be bored. I have to say I am less bothered than I thought I would be. She was never asked she just decided she wanted to come.
It's really up to her. If she comes then fine I'd she doesn't then that's fine too.

Nothing is simple it would seem.

Just looking forward to a rest.

So what's her decision? I remember offering our daughter holiday when she was about 19. She thought it wouldn't be cool, so stayed at home. She was miserable & wished she'd gone.

She is not coming with us so now I am sitting here feeling a bit funny about it.

If we had internet access then I think she would go but we don't. I do think she would be bored but I wish she had said something sooner. It's just a bit of a bolt.

She is going to wonder what has hit her but her brother will be here some of the time.

Oh well.

Old enough to make her own decisions HB. Sure she'll survive. Hope you have a lovely time and the weather is good to you! x

We are off to a lovely cottage in Oban. Plan to do some island hopping while we are there.

Just a funny feeling. This is the first child free holiday for 25 years.

Oh heck.

Up early and off to get ready. Bit anxious and still feel funny leaving kids behind.

Have a good week ladies and stay well.

My partner and I are starting to think about booking a holiday for October (I've got a week booked off then, also one in August but everything will be too expensive then!!). I'm hopefully about to sell my 'marital home' and get my share of the equity (I was divorced last September) so we've decided we will use a little tiny bit of that to have a week's holiday. We're pretty hard up so it's all quite exciting. We need to get the most we can from our money!

Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions: we want somewhere pretty, with good food, that will at least be warm in October, if not hot (Lee's not mad keen on really hot weather!), some sea, architecture, good coffee and cheapish! I noticed some discussion of Croatia. My son was there at a music festival last Summer and said I would love it there, he said it's like being on the Med but loads cheaper. What do you think?

Thanks! x

We certainly had a lovely week in Croatia. Low to mid 70s beginning of September. We booked online. Shop around, which I'm sure you will.
