Im back to the isle of wright in feb as my granddaughters are getting christened on the island.  Only going for a long weekend though and hopefully shall not be as scared as i was this year, the lovely thing too is that all my family will be there too.

My daughter is going abroad next year to and has asked me if i want to go with them, but i just not sure what i want to do. I have to decide soon as she will be booking it. But its going with daughter me and her do have a difficult relationship was very stressful this year and then the going abroad bit too and if i'm honest i do feel for my daughter as she has to be thinking of me and if am panicking, thats the one thing about anxiety it has made be have to be the one taken care of.  My granddaughter is starting to use the panic word too i feel sad about that as she hears my daughter talking about me.

With this weather we are having I think a lot of people will look to see if they can afford a holiday abroad next year.  Watch for the special offers from travel agancies ..
We will stay in the UK but not sure where yet. We usually think about as our holiday finishes and we're not going till September.

We are flat broke, and can't afford a hol this year.  I was so hoping for a decent summer in the UK as we live by the sea/South Downs and can at least spend the weekends on the beach, picniking, barbequing etc. but... dear God this weather is so awful, and it's so depressing - endless weeks of drizzling rain, and there's no escape!  My OH and me fantasise about sneaking off for a short, out of season hol, maybe 4 or 5 days off-season somewhere hot, but... I have two teenagers from a previous marriage who have absolutely NO interest in coming on hol with us (we are old, boring and embarassing, even if we could afford it!!   ::)) and we simply cannot leave them at home, unsupervised, if we did manage to afford a short break. All family members are far from home, and we would need someone to feed the dog, and basically act as bouncer on the door otherwise I just know there would be wild parties, a wrecked home etc. etc. on our return - aggh, kids!

Any ideas from you guys?   :)

lock them in a cupboard  .... joke  ;D

I can remember when we were in that situation. They grow and leave eventually. Better to wait and have a relaxing hols rather than one full of worry.

Any friends living near by who would 'check' on the house daily or more often? That's about all I can think of

Well we'd originally thought of going to the Lake District for a week.  But seeing how horrid the weather has been this year and all the flooding, we've had second thoughts.

Now we're thinking of Jersey.  We went to Guernsey many years ago and had a lovely holiday.  Have any of you been there at all, or maybe someone on here lives there.  We can fly from our local airport, think I can cope with a 2 hour flight.  Much easier than the 9 hours this year!
