Changing tastes?
« on: August 01, 2014, 08:47:12 AM »

I have always been a coffee drinker - I would always rather have had coffee, any coffee, than tea (in fact, I'd rather have had dish-water than tea!).  But recently, I've become fussy over coffee (I love freshly-ground espresso-based coffee, but have gone right off instant!) and developed a liking for tea - I now drink tea by preference where 'real' coffee is not available, or when I'm not sure what the coffee will be like.

I've not noticed any other major changes to my tastes, but the tea/coffee thing is really dramatic!  Am I alone to experience this?

I went off coffee when I was pregnant. Hormone related, and as hormones again are playing a big part in our lives then I'm not surprised that this kind of thing happens.
Lots of different teas to try.

Redbush is lovely and good for you.

I have always drunk tea, sort of as it came really, but now I have to have it strong all the time as otherwise it makes me nauseous. :sick02:
I can't eat spicy foods now which I use to enjoy.

It's not that I can't drink instant coffee, I just don't like it anymore!

My daughter thinks it's great that I know enjoy tea - she says we can have a 'proper' posh afternoon tea now, as it wasn't the same when I insisted on having coffee!

Took me a long time to develop taste for coffee, but never liked tea. I was always a chocolate girl. Only hot drink my mum could get me to take. In fact I would take it in a flask to school.

Not keen on real coffee, apart from espresso. Have to put sugar in it though. I treat myself to it once in a while. On holiday, I have after evening meal. If not that coffee liqueur.  ::)

My tastes have changed over the years. Like Indian food, but can't take as spicy any more.

Can't say I've noticed any change.  ???  I still have tea first thing in the morning, filter coffee with my breakfast, ditto mid-morning (with a piece of cake if I'm feeling naughty), and tea mid-afternoon.   Both are medium-plus strength.   In fact, I feel a cup of tea coming on...........
