I am reliably informed the technical expression for high pressure & the clouds is "Blocking High"

Hope that helps  ;D

Such a beautiful morning here, its warm and still, but there is the golden glow of early autumn days, the leaves are beginning to turn already here.

Thinking of taking some pics to upload now I am back on photobucket, I am due a new contract phone in a few weeks and am going to choose one with a good camera :)

It's Blocking High here all right  >:(
We saw a bit of sun yesterday and I rushed outside. Windows are wide open today but it's totally covered.

when's the hurricane season definitely over? Husband has the last 2 weeks of November off before he starts a new job, and we need somewhere sunny and relaxing as he's exhausted. I suggested South Africa as it's cheap with guaranteed sunshine but he doesn't want to run into family obligations.

We had 'warm sunshine' forecast. Big joke. Grey and very cool rubbish.

Hurricanes over at end of November. Thankfully none came when we were out there. We've been to Caribbean 6 times at same time of year & missed hurricanes every time.

Today it's a bit dull, but sun is trying to break through.

Just beautiful now the mist has burned off.

Makes the winter seem much shorter if we get a nice autumn.

Ah damn! Our break has to be from mid November. A friend said 'hurricanes' and we thought he was being alarmist, but with our luck........ :o
I saw my neighbour and tried to remember what the exact term is for the totally grey, bleak but warm weather we are having (endlessly) so I said it's called "....High" and she said "no, it's called cr*p" (she's a scientist).
No sign of the sun at all and almost dark already.

Oldsheep check out national hurricane centre & weather underground websites they give historical info on hurricanes. This year has been quiet in the Atlantic due to El Nino. I don't understand these things, but when we were in St Lucia, American channels were saying that most of the activity is in the Pacific this year, which makes for less Atlantic hurricanes.  We have been so lucky as August/September is when most happen in Atlantic.

We temporarily got some nice warm weather today, then it got rather chilly. Still dry though.
