I'm finding it very Octoberish and enjoying it     but I am worried about my woodpigeons who have nested right outside one of my bedroom windows. With the gales we are forecast I am sure it will blow down. I haven't seen any chicks yet although by my reckoning they should have hatched earlier this week. It's only a small thing I know but they spent so long choosing the site, making the platform nest with the female being very picky over the twigs she would accept and then taking it in turns to sit on the nest for the last 16 days.  Last year they spared me the worry but usually they decide to take up residence in the same place.

Awful. Drizzling and cold. We saw the sun yesterday and there was no wind so that was something.  Actually went out without a cardi or jacket.  By the evening it was cold again. It's terrible really because we have only sat out in the garden 2 evenings this year and both of those were the last Bank hol when we had good weather.  It has been a totally rubbish summer here.

I'm not too far from the Norfolk coast and Cromer usually gets the record for sunniest place.   This morning it is just 14C, I'm sitting here with woolly socks on, jeans and a long sleeved top.  The sky has no blue in it at all and it's not looking good again.

I love cycling but have been on my bike less this year than any year I can remember.

My cycle stayed in the shed for most of 2012.     ........ it has rained all night, pity those poor souls in camp-sites at various events around the UK    ......... it's still drizzling - sun came out briefly around 2.15, took one look and disappeared  >:(and indoors I'm cold, outside it is muggy ..........
