Yep. I put the hose round again B4 sitting by the ponds this evening.

We’re planning for yet another water butt or two.
With metered water watering you start wondering how much growing for fresh veg is costing.

It never crosses my mind. We have 6 barrels plus a large water tank which came from the roof years ago. The latter gets filled from the hose to be used at that end of the garden.

Collecting does show how much water is wasted ....... though of course it goes into the earth, evaporates into clouds and falls again. [sadly occasionally there is too much that causes intense flooding as seen in Texas this week

Went with my son to the cinema today to see the new Superman film, partly to get in the cool air conditioning! Scorchio outside though, too hot to do any housework………😁

I wilted last evening, until 8.00 ish when we sat outdoors until 10.30 watching frogs and moths.

The cool air blower was on all night, air is slightly cooler now. Sky is gloomy, it mayB mist drifting away which will cause it to be hot.

Thanks CLKD! I'm coping but sad for insects and wildlife in the heat. The grass is crispy underfoot. Hard to sleep in this weather too so I've been sitting out in the garden till 1. Magical time of day/night. Pleased I'm no longer working!

We sat out watching large moths as well as a dragon fly hunting in the dusk.

DH fixed a large piece of cloth across the kitchen window on the outside to lessen the intensity of the heat ........ it will stay until the temps begin to dip which could be by Tuesday when rain is 4cast

Yes we’re home now. 🙋🏼‍♀️
Weather was ok, 16/18 degrees, rain on and off, but better for walking around in.
We were hit with this heat when we got off the plane, omg, we were exhausted come 9pm.
Good trip though, nice little break. 👍
