This morning we are getting a lovely mix of freezing rain, ice pellets, normal rain and just for kicks...4 inches of wet snow later on today. :o ::)

Oh and I forgot to mention the 70 kph or45 mph wind gusts that's blowing all of it around

Nope, it either comes one after the other or a mix, right now the rain seems to have stopped, I guess the snow is on the way now.

So today, the day after the storm that wasn't,  we have less snow on the ground than before the storm.  We missed the cold air and the snow and got mostly rain and wet snow that melted on contact. No shoveling is a good thing! It's above 0 so there's some melting happening and the sunshine later should help dry things up a bit.

Cold.  Dull.  Sleet for an hour.  Pouring with rain for a change  ::) but due to freeze sharply over night so TAKE CARE out there!

It's nice out now, sunny and cold but the weekend is going get very messy and dangerously windy.  The weather folks are strongly recommending not travelling at all on Friday or Saturday because of a flash freeze due to an extremely strong temperature drop and very strong winds with blowing snow. I had to cancel Maggie's last day at daycare because I don't want to drive if I don't have to.

Maggie will like the snow but not having the cold wind blow up her backside lol.

Dad is doing well, thanks for asking :).  He has plenty of warm clothes and I'm sure he'll hunker down in front of the fireplace.  I will have to plead with him not to go out for his walk, because he walks in any weather. He's pretty unsteady on his feet and he will likely get blown over or slip on the icy sidewalk.

They think that they are younger than they really are  :o and forget that it hurts if we fall over!!!!  Is he with you for 25/26th?

He's coming over for Christmas Day, and he's supplying the turkey. It's true, he tries to do things that he shouldn't be doing when I'm not around.

There has been a winter storm warning issued for the weekend, so I've been out getting last minute errands done.

I saw the warnings in your direction on our weather 4cast services!!!  Will the turkey be cooked already? 

No improvement at all during the day here  >:(. Fine drizzle, the kind that goes through every layer of clothing as far as the skin  :o

After breakfast we had a gentle stroll, light lunch.   Now the rain is pouring. Hard!

Friday was brutally windy with frigid windchills, and blowing snow. Thankfully we didn't get much in terms of accumulation, most of it just blew around and settled in the backyard. Travel on the highways was very dangerous so dd stayed home from work. Saturday was even windier (90kph gusts) and -30 windchill.  Maggie was going bananas being stuck in the house so I had to at least walk her for 15 minutes, no longer than that to avoid freezing her pads or ears. Today the sun is out, still cold but the wind has abated just a bit. Travel conditions are much better.

Turkey is going in around 1 or 1:30, already did the mashed rutabaga, going to maple glazed sweet potatoes later..
