Thought I'd post here although have posted in the privacy section around the same subject, but as I have been given new information today I would like to share it with you and see if anyone else has had a similar experience.
Story: Low dose HRT Very low dose 0.3mg oestrogen and 1.5 of progesterone and vagifem. All has been good until 4 months ago when I was having more VA problems so started using 3 x a week. Have a great GP but she said she would rather I did the 14 day throw everything at it and then go back to 2 x a week. This worked fine a couple of months ago but then after only a month i was sore again and have had to do another 14 day stint. On holiday so thought great I can go and see my GP. Did a little research and thoght there are other vaginal products I could try with more oestrogen. Unfortunately GP on holiday

so arranged to see another lady GP I had seen before. So I marched in feeling all optimistic only for her to say she wasn't sure

and didn't I know about the cream issue

. No I said. Well according to her it is felt that as we end up taking 2 different sources of oestrogen that this can impact on your uterus ( if you still have one) and cause thickening. There is the thought it increases the risk of endometrial cancer. So basically I would be better making another appt to see my usual GP as she didn't want to give me anything the other GP wouldn't have. Well you know how it is when your sore and have had to wait ages for an appt only to be told they can't help and go and see the usual one.

I thought that generally the absorption of the vaginal oestrogen into the system was meant to be very low and therefore not an issue???
She said had I thought about using KY jelly, nearly leapt down her throat at this point. Didn't mean to be told her the other GP said it was the last thing we should use. She looked mortified. Did add we already used lube (didn't add that we could write our own scientific paper on the different types and which works best!!!

)
So she has given me Replens which I haven't tried before and some of the feed back isn't great, but felt that if I had least given it a go and it was useless I could tell the GP in 2 WEEKS time

.
So anyone have any comment as to her information, heard anything similar or managed to swap easily from vagifem to something else without too many problems. Personally I would have thought that as I'm taking such a low dose HRT it wouldn't be as bad.
So as usual ladies your thoughts or experiences, both good and bad gratefully received
Thanks

Sorry its such a long post
