I couldn't sleep last night and I had all the bedroom widows open and the fan going. It was so hot and there was no air.
I thought I would sleep well as we had spent the day in Southport and did a lot of walking. It did seem odd it being so hot and the sun much lower in the sky and the leaves coming off the trees. Also the shops were full of winter clothes.
So feeling heavy eyed this morning and feeling very hot in front of the computer, it really does feel like being abroad.

Ah well thats that theory about liking the time of year you were born proved to be just a myth Taz..
I had a better night last night then the two previous nights .. I'd got the fan out again and had it on during the day yesterday ..so each time I sat I cooled down but the two previous days I was very sweaty all day and just couldnt settle at night..
I think maybe Im one of the s.a.d. people as I love the longer lighter days and am dreading the short winter ones.. drawing the curtains at 4pm because all is dark and gloomy outside

I was born in January and it's definitely not my favourite time of year! I like April, May, September and October.

Daughter the same, she's on nights from tonight, so missing the good weather too. First time she's been on nights since moving house, so not sure how quiet it will be during the day.

Noooooo!!!! It's stifling and oppressive, and spare a thought for those in Scotland and Northern Ireland who are having wet weather!

I thought it would be interesting to see what those of us who are enjoying the hot, sunny weather have actually done with it - how have you all made the most of it?

Me too BOB.
This weather just doesn't suit me
I love to see the sun but its difficult to enjoy it when you're all
Sweaty and sticky
I have to slow down and pace myself with things such as housework
which I can do quite well

Gardening and gaffer-taping then so far
I hate gardening which is another good reason why the Winter is so fabulous. I don't have to feel guilty when I am sat indoors on a nice day and can hear all the neighbours mowing, strimming, edging, car washing, car hoovering etc. Maybe I am just plain lazy!!

We sat in the garden at teatime with a gin & tonic watching the cat trying to catch flies.
Had the fan on all last night. Very hot again today.

We had our lunch braeks outside at work yesterday - Then went home and sat in the garden till I got bored.
How do some people sit in the sun for hours? it's not the heat that I can't stand, it's just that I kind of feel restless just sitting there!
