Backache, exhaustion, tinnitus.

Backache, I bent over to get a spoon out of the drawer and ping, it went
-
Annoying swollen heavy boobs. A little bit of cramps. Some insomnia also the last few nights. Period should start within the week.
-
Sleepiness/fatigue x
-
An odd feeling of 'vagueness' ???
-
Another possible UTI.....D Manosse to the rescue.
-
Fee - have you read the various vaginal atrophy threads? if you are getting 'regular' UTI-type symptoms, then you need to see your GP with a urine sample ASAP which MUST be sent to a Lab …….. my VA began with UTI-type symptoms >:( and I was given ABs when they weren't necessary :-\
-
Hello honeybun.
Do hormonal surges count as a health complaint? If so I can chalk up at least one every day.
Sending hugs ladies.
K.

If your having it ....it counts

Extreme anxiety, very heavy period, 'foggy' head. (Not good today) X
-
Anxiety x

Spots >:(
-
Yes CLKD, my sample came back from the lab showing no bacteria although I had chronic symptoms of a UTI. I have been on Vagifem for 6 months and use an Estraderm patch. Going back next week to find out how to progress, my bladder is apparently tricking me into thinking I have a UTI but how you fix that is anyone's guess. My Dr was brilliant and very understanding, he was a true star!

Still got a backache :(
-
Hot , rapid heart beats, temple pains, joints ache,

wading through thick black treacle...... :(

wading through thick black treacle...... :(
Hate that feeling

headache

Joint ache really bad x

Fee - increase your Vagifem dose i.e. do a 're-load'!!!! (have you read the various threads?)
today - nausea = anxiety [bugga …… ]

Still got a touch of indigestion although it's improving a little....I think
Honeybun
X
-
Weird pains in left hand side, all over the place. Had this before, a few months ago, ultrasound couldn't find anything and now it's back. Hormones?
-
Not a clue sparkle. My digestive system is a mystery too me.
Jelly beans are helping ;D
Honeybun
X
-
Oh YUK ;D
-
Well they tasted good but the indigestion is worse now.
Trouble is when I get it I can have it for days on end.
Hey ho.
Honeybun
X
-
Creepy crawling feeling under my skin x
-
Cant wake up, feel like been drugged, plus nausea (new one for me) with headache. x
-
Did you dream last night Unhinged, I find if I have the busy, long, involved dreams I wake feeling similar >:(
-
Ankles which get really stiff if I sit down for more than a few minutes.
-
Stomach pains and backache 😒
-
Very sore back, hard to walk. Ouch! 😖
-
My stomach as usual.
Well last night I decided to take things in hand and radically change my diet because what I'm eating is the root cause of my stomach not working properly.
I'm determined to get this sorted before I drive myself nuts.
Honeybun
X
-
Still backache for me :(
-
Honeybun - another thread sharing your current diet? so that we can make suggestions?
-
burning across the back of my neck/shoulders [did lots of gardening today]
-
This is a depressing thread!!!!!!!! I don't want to look for and comment on all my ailments!! Also it should be in Other Health Discussion as it's not particularly about menopause! I'm going to bump up babyjane's positive thread (which also should be on another board too!).
Hurdity x

:na:
Just a place to offload quickly.....and if you don't like it then don't read it.
Honeybun
-
I agree too, it's nice to know I'm not the only one who suffers everyday
-
It is a depressing time ………. 'it helps to talk' ;)
-
I agree, I actually find it helpful to lay down something that is bothering me and they walk away for the rest of the day. That way I don't seem to dwell on it so much. A problem shared and all that, I thought that was what this forum is for.
And there is the opportunity to pass by threads we don't like anyway :)
'My' positivity thread is quite ok where it is thank you, otherwise I think it would have been moved already :)
-
Me too, it's comforting when you can see that others are suffering similar things, and BJ, yes, it's a way to 'offload' it, we're all struggling and it's a comfort to speak to others about it.
So thanks for starting the thread Honeybun! x
CLKD - sorry I missed your question yesterday, yes I have been having some really quite weird dreams of late, so was interested in what you said.
Complaint of the day: strong metallic taste in my mouth.
-
:thankyou:
It does help just to unload and know we are not alone
Gurgly tummy for me.
Honeyb
x
-
thick head, blocked ears, woozy giddy feeling.
Roll on next week when things calm down after the wedding we are going to this weekend. I am sure stress speeds me up and wears me down. There don't seem to be the physical or emotional reserves for things outside my 'normal' any more :(
-
Broken Ankle
It's yesterday's complaint really but it's still here and it does help to offload.
Sorry if you find it depressing Hurdity - Strangely enough I find it pretty depressing too
-
The ankle or the topic Limpy or a combination of both ::)
Honeyb
x
-
Unhinged - I have just been researching the 'metallic taste' as DH has it today. I just read it is common during pregnancy AND meno ::)
another headache today, but nipped it in the bud very early with super pain killer ;)
-
Still got sore back. Got Tiger Balm to help & hot water bottle.
-
Exhausted - Mild Anxiety
Edited - forgot the total brain fuzz!
-
very much thank you Sparky, it will be nice to be 'just' a guest . Most of the other guests won't have a clue who I am or have any expectations of me. :)

nausea, fuzzy head, cramps :(

Hi SadLynda, thanks, let me know if you find out exactly what causes it! Hope you're feeling a bit better now ....
-
Some medication can cause metallic taste. As can a lack of certain minerals!
-
Thanks CLKD, I am going to research and see if can find out which minerals (lack of) might cause it
-
Asking a Pharmacist might be quicker ;)
-
Still got sore back. Got Tiger Balm to help & hot water bottle.
Never heard of that, does it help? Will it help my aching joints as well? :)
-
Aching back, knees, ankles and shoulder - think I'm working too hard ;)
-
We have been moved ladies.
It would seem we don't know where is best and have to be guided ;D
No change there then :-\

But if these complaints are menopause related then it is now in the wrong place :(

Hi SadLynda, thanks, let me know if you find out exactly what causes it! Hope you're feeling a bit better now ....
SadLynda and Unhinged - pine nuts can cause a metallic taste in the mouth. I had it myself a few years ago and it did take a while to go. Have a read about it here in case it might be the cause of your problems:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-1184261/Pine-mouth-puzzle-Why-nuts-leave-bitter-taste.html

Went for a walk today and got really painful cramp into my groin at the top of my leg >:( Had to stop and wave my leg around until it stopped, bet the cars going past had a laugh ;D
And then my bad knee started up again and my hip joined in >:( So much for trying to get fit!!!
And I've got a 'posh do' on saturday that requires heels, that should be interesting :o

Thanks Jenna, no he hasnt had any pine nuts. Apparently it went around lunch time, I am thinking 'sleep apnea' as I saw that mentioned somewhere and his snoring has got much worse of late :beat:
-
Well I thought we were in the right place , but not according to a member .....oh and management.
Excuse me while I quietly fume.
Anyway my health complaint or just complaint for today....
Meddlesome people who always but always think they know best.
My life seems to be full of them.
Well we move on to another day...hopefully better.
Take care ladies.

Oh do tell Honeybun ;)
Where are we now then ……… I'm still here!
-
Me too.
-
Sore throat this evening :-\
-
Oh I'm still here too.....well for now anyway :-\
Really not sure I like the way things are anymore to be honest but we wait and see.
I have never appreciated being talked down to or treated like a naughty child but hey ho ladies.
Honeybun
-
Honeybun, it's understandable you feel the way you do, I was completely shocked at what has happened to be honest, I don't see how any member has the right to speak to another in that way - and if they want to throw me off or 'shun' me for saying what is true then so be it! It was outrageous and uncalled for. Hurdity are you reading this? Can you see how much upset you have caused? It was out of order.
I hope you don't feel too bad Honeybun x
See you later lovely ladies x
-
No I'm fine thanks Unhinged.
Disappointed in the moderation of the forum ....but there you go.
just waiting for BJs thread to be moved too, then we will be sorted as per instructions it would seem

I've still got an aching back, ankles and knees, but got a day off work so somehow it doesn't seem as bad today. Incidentally, I feel my aches are menopause related, never had them before :)
-
Yes Sparkle, I was vitamin D deficient. Managed to get it up to just 'low'. Was told to take an over the counter dose, maybe I should as I haven't been. They really are painful at the moment.
-
My menopause related health complaint.
Aching knees. One is a bit swollen and painful.
Honeybun
X
-
Sparkle - what one do you take, what's the strength?
-
as far as I can see all these health issues are menopause related health concerns so in my opinion the original section seemed relevant. I thought 'other health' was things not related to menopause but I won't profess an opinion as I haven't really been here as long as you other ladies.
-

I agree, if we believe our health issues are menopause related then surely we should be allowed to post in the menopause section. Nobody here is able to diagnose our problems as any different.
-
I think it's better under here to be honest. Maybe if it was called "Meno health complaint of the day" you would get just the meno related ones. By putting it here members can post about any health issue which is making them feel horrible and get some support. For instance CLKD's sore throat - she wouldn't have posted that under "meno health complaint" and none of us would be able to show her some sympathy but under here she can post it.
A lot of our health complaints are not meno related really - it's just that, I reckon, going through all of the meno problems makes even the smaller unrelated to meno niggles feel so much harder to deal with and it's good to have a place to share for those that want to.
Taz x
-
You may have a point Taz....but...and it's a big but ::)
Do we actually need a member to tick us off like naughty children.....go and speak to teacher and have it changed.
Emma has been on the forum whilst this topic was where it was and hadn't done anything.
Is it really that important, people got the point and we were all quite happy.
Why does another member...who is not a moderator, get to judge others. It's bound to ruffle more than my feathers to be honest. It gives the forum, for maybe the older members an uneasy feeling.
Not carefree but under the control of an other member.
I'm not comfortable with it at all.
Thought I should also say I have had communications from quite a few members who are as concerned as I am ....so it's not just me who doesn't like this.
I have asked the question of Emma...but...no reply as yet.
I just wish we could go back to what we were.
A group of supportive women....no one bossing us around....who saw each other through hard times......oh and didn't stress where topics were.
Hey ho....things move on and perhaps not in a good way.
No doubt I will get my knuckles wrapped or worse but I think I have a valid point.
Could be wrong though.

My health complaint of the day is that...my period started. Actually, I was looking forward to it, hoping it would give me some relief from itchy, sore boobs, palpitations, insomnina and bloating. And it kind of did. But before it started today I was going crazy. Annoying sleepless night. Then less itchy and less swollen boobs this morning. Half way through the day my face got very flushed, my boobs itched like CRAZY and I had cramps = voilá period arrived. Is that "normal", i.e. all these flushes and other odd symtoms at the onset of your period?
-
Don't have any doubts Honeybun, your point is completely valid. Like I said earlier, I was shocked that any member should be able to speak to another like that, I am only new here, but that doesn't mean my opinion or entitlement to equal membership is any less than someone who has been on here for years, all members are equal, BUT even if I had been on here since the start of the forum, I would never try to dictate to other members, especially in that condescending school-mam-ish manner - NO member has the right to do that.
I really thought it was supposed to be like you said; a group of supportive women trying to help each other out without being bossed about. Does indeed feel like being back at school. Such a shame, it all feels sour now, and I had experienced such comfort from this forum. I suppose it may help to remember it's only one member, out of the many of us, who has behaved this way.
Thanks again for all your help ladies, particularly Honeybun, Sparkle, CLKD, Babyjane, and some new members joining the same time as me like Sadlynda. I am off to Scotland for a bit so hopefully by the time I get back it will all be sorted and hunky-dory again!
Love, Unhinged x

Thanks Honeybun, I'll try not to let it put me off, and this new comfort I've found here when before there wasn't any, has come to mean a lot.
If I haven't been thrown off this forum for daring to speak out (ha ha) then I promise I will let you know how much I loved the Highlands when I get back!
Unhinged x

Please do....I really would like to hear of your Scottish adventures. You may be lucky with the weather too.....check that midge forecast though or your health complaint will be
MIDGE BITES. ;D
Honeybun

-
Ha ha ha, yes - Fort William is at nuisance level 4 still, though forecast to come to 3 over the weekend. I will buy one of those net hat things if necessary, even if I do look like a mad bee-keeper!
Thanks again HB x
-
Ooh Unhinged - don't mock the midge whatever you do.
You'll need repellent at the very least, oh and some sort of sting relief.
Good luck.
-
Oh gawd! Thanks Limpy, you've got me worried now! I got some Skin So Soft stuff by Avon which is supposedly a good repellent, I didn't think of sting relief though - oops more shopping x
-
Thanks for asking - my throat was sore all of yesterday but after breakfast today, it felt better. Maybe I slept with gob wide open :D ;D and Taz is correct: I wouldn't have considered it related to meno ::)
Today I woke early anxious with the upheaval here :-\ :'( ……. I hate watching Forums implode.

We do sell it up here ;D
Don't think we are imploding quite yet CLKD.

Oh yeah, course you will, why didn't I think of that ha ha?! Seriously, what a fog; health complaint of the day: Being Thick. x

Honeybun
:na: and the same to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Whaaat? I can only presume you think I had something to do with the thread being moved?? For the record I have had absolutely nothing to do with it whatsoever and have not been in contact with Emma to ask her to do this - not that I need to justify that. I was surprised as you when today I saw that it had been moved and actually presumed that you, honeybun had asked for it or had drawn Emma's attention to the thread somehow!
Anyway be that as it may - I don't like arguments but I wanted to respond as a result of the remarks made and erroneous assumptions! .....and sparkle yes I too care about giving support to women too which is why I come on here!
Hurdity x

Galadriel x

Coughing, but I did smoke a cigarette, does that qualify? No didn't think so.....
Real complaint of the day; couldn't sleep due to constant throat clearing. As this is last day before holiday I'm wondering if it could possibly be meno anxiety related rather than reflux - I didn't have it a couple of days before last night, so seems a coincidence!
Unhinged x
-
Morning O Sparkly One!
It flipping well drives me nuts this throat clearing! Yeah it is hard to tell which is causing it, although it's not the worst of my symptoms (anxiety is THE worst thing ever), I think it is definitely the most irritating. I don't know about you but when I try to ignore it it then 'builds up' and I feel that if I don't clear it I'm going to choke/can't breathe.
Thanks, I won't be taking my laptop so prob won't be logging in to post, but I might look at what you are all up to on my phone when I'm in bed each night - that might depend on whether I can see it of course what with a few glasses of red wine under my belt tee hee! But if I can't then I wish you all a good couple of weeks! x
-
Sparkly one, ha ha, I like it :)
I think the gunk in the throat is due to post nasal drip. I have always had it but it is much worse recently.
-
Morning Babyjane :)
Post nasal drip - can hormones cause that do you know? I've never had allergies/asthma type things, and I used to blame it on smoking but until very recently I hadn't had a cigarette for six months and it was actually worse! What do you do about yours?
Unhinged x
-
maybe as I used to get it before a period along with the lovely PMS.
I have a Rhinocort nasal spray on prescription which helps but I don't use it all the time because it does dry out my nose and then I get little nose bleeds. I am using it at the moment because otherwise I will have a big red nose for the wedding tomorrow from all the constant wiping. :(
-
Thanks BJ, oh crikey, no you don't want a red nose at a wedding; have a lovely time!
-
Sparkle - I had a gasp moment - Gaviscon Advance stopped your throat clearing? I didn't think of trying that for that, maybe I will have to persevere with the swallowing it problem, maybe 'think of England' while I'm doing it tee hee. x
-
Oh God yes I do! Only recently I had made my throat & chest so sore with it that it turned into a throat/chest infection which I needed antibiotics for, I am going to try the GA trick - worst that can happen is :sick02: x
-
Oh no Ive caught something too.
Sore throat, sore sinus under eyes and on/off jabbing pains in ear, headache that comes and goes. Absol fab way to start weekend. Then to cap it off DD off school similar symptoms, who expects to be nursed like she was a toddler. The joy.
Need quick recovery, my risk reducing masectomy/ reconstruction is booked for 18/9 dont want to go into that feeling under the weather.
Might visit GP on Monday.
Linsey x
-
I know! Antibiotics feel like they're ripping my stomach lining out, the only ones I can take are Amoxycilllin - might be the coating, I know I can't take any uncoated tabs. I read somewhere that green mucus can mean infection, I think that's correct, I haven't looked at mine in the mirror - yet, I'm thinking about it now though ha ha, what I do know is that I brought up and blew out thick strings of green mucus like I've never seen in my life, sorry to be so descriptive but what came out of my nose looked old, like it had been there a long time, dark green and almost solid (oh strewth, sorry everyone!).
Do you feel generally ok? (what a stupid question, but I mean as in not weak and really low like you've got flu). If I have a chest infection I'm as weak as a kitten, knocks me for six. I hope you haven't but when you go doc next, he would be able to hear it with his steth x
-
Linsey, yes sounds like classic virus doesn't it! Hope you get better quick, you've got 2 weeks, so fingers crossed. All the very best wishes for your op! x
-
;D Yes v sorry about that, I won't be having lettuce in my lunch roll that's for sure!
Maybe cross infection off then, at least some good news! Yes I am wheezy and rattly, sound like an old man on roll-ups and meths - ooh, meths might clear it, or neat vodka! I've just taken a double dose Ranitidine as a test, so if it's acid it might stop it a bit. Mind you, after we've made it sore, it feels like there's something there even if there isn't! Grrrrr! X
-
Yes just round and round ... no, I don't hardly ever drink, even though it's enough to make me sometimes! Um, yes, we have a little haven't we, well I'm going to go pack my suitcase so we had best hand it back I guess. Have a lovely lunch if you can!
Unhinged x
-
I only missed one day and I seem to have missed a lot ::)
Unhinged, have a good holiday (I missed when you were going, but looks like soon).
Hope you poor throaty ladies get better soon.
Today I am irritated beyond belief by everything and everyone - what on earth is wrong with me?
-
Hello Sadlynda :)
Thankyou, yes am leaving v early in the morning.
Nothing wrong with you - it's your flipping hormones! I hate that feeling of irritiability - I was like it with my friend yesterday, and ended up hating myself!
I hope you're doing ok ....
-
SL - that was me on Monday. People just had to look at me the wrong way and I'd be ready to go 9 rounds! And two seconds later I start sobbing. Aaaargh!
Less irritable today but just as weepy ::)
I hope all you thoaty ladies find some relief.
Linsey44 - sounds like the typical 'back to school/uni' infection. Why do kids feel the need to share their bugs and regress to toddlers?! Hopefully it will be gone well before your op.
Galadriel x
-
Fits of coughing daily, GP says post nasal drip. I'm beginning to wonder if that's so. I've got too many complaints today.
-
I have taken an antihistamine to see if it dries up. Never mind post nasal drip it's just nasal drip today. My nose is getting to equal Rudolph's and that won't be a pretty sight on the photos. Foundation called for tomorrow I think - blast :(
-
Indigestion again. Keeps coming and going for no reason that I can figure out.
Nothing wrong with a little camouflage BJ.

Busy weekend = high anxiety necessitating medication this morning :'(
-
For you CKLD :tulips2:
-
Thanks. Last night my head was packed with stuff I have to do before we go away. No gut anxiety but my head was buzzing, making the tinnitus louder >:(
-
It's been five weeks today since I had second surgery on my back, and still NO improvement .....getting a bit hacked off now :'(
-
Pain levels the same?
-
Sciatica a bit better, but pain on top of foot is still like being in a vice, and still numb in unmentionable parts >:(.......back pain is still horrendous , but then I knew op cannot help that, as my back is in too much of a mess......I will go for steroid shots for that, but not yet....
Oh well....keep smiling :)
-
Thank you for reminding me, even being an irritable old bat is hormones ;) hope its not time for tears again tomorrow though.
CLKD - soon be Monday, (keep repeating this mantra)
Ellie - bad news about your back etc, cant be easy to maintain that smile. Would you like me to go hit somebody for you? :beat: :poke2: :kick:
-
SadLyinda....what a good idea.....you can go and HIT the Surgeon who gave me a new knee six years ago, and while he was doing it he kindly damaged the nerves and soft tissue and I have had to walk with a walker ever since.....his name is...... :-X no better not....he knows who he is, don't you MR #### :hotflash: :cuss: :crutch:
-
Ellie - It must be horrid still having pain, even following your operation
But at least you know what caused it.
Sorry. I'me feeling a bit off at the moment, discovering I've broken an ankle and having no idea how or when it happened does that to a person.
-
Limpy how awful for you,,as you say I know who caused my knee pain (the #######) ...but breaking an ankle and not knowing, wow, must make you very nervous....Is it recent? Ouch ouch you poor thing
-
It's been sore for 3/4 weeks ish. Saw a GP after first week who suggested anti histamines and Ibuprofen thought it was insect bite. Anti Bs the next week, thought it was infection. This Tuesday say another GP who suggested xray, popped into MIU after that and eventually they found the break. The thing is I didn't know I'd done it, it was sore but nothing to suggest a break. There had been a fall about 4 weeks previous, ok the leg hurt but I was still walking on it, I still don't know when I did it :-\
You're right about being nervous, especially as I still haven't heard from the fracture clinic yet. I tentatively mentioned getting a bone density scan done the latest GP but was told it was unlikely to be passed by the NHS they would just put me on calcium. There have been more relaxing times ::)
-
I am lucky in a way....a couple of years ago I had a Dexi scan and the results said I has ostiopennia ( now I know that's spelt wrong) and I was given vitimin D.....A friend of mine goes to a experimental place and they invited me for the scan........
-
However: if one has a pelvic scan it will show whether extra calcium is required :bang: - which Planet is your GP on >:(
-
Hopefully It's just one of those things and nowt to do with bone thinning. I am already taking a vit D3 & calcium supplement. I did have a stumble at the end of July which I'd forgotten about so perhaps it was that. However I may just harangue the GP and see if I can get a dxa scan.
Ellie - What will you do about getting your back pain sorted out?
-
However: if one has a pelvic scan it will show whether extra calcium is required :bang: - which Planet is your GP on >:(
That's what I said!
I think she's on planet hard up & budget cuts ::)
-
That xssd my mind ::) but it will be better for her Budget if the scan shows that you don't require any more treatment!
-
Todays health complaint - mind not so bad 'quite up' fingers crossed. Back Ache awful, woke up with it and its not getting any better :(
-
Wish there was a magical button you could press that, whenever health anxiety strikes, it could confirm if it's 'just your hormones'! X
-
The combination of IBS and a rectocele is my complaint. It would be nice not to have my life ruled by my bowels! I have to remind my self that they are doing their best!
-
Ankle less swollen and hot but hurts more.
But - The fracture clinic appointment has arrived and and I now have some crutches.
-
Yes CLKD, my sample came back from the lab showing no bacteria although I had chronic symptoms of a UTI. I have been on Vagifem for 6 months and use an Estraderm patch. Going back next week to find out how to progress, my bladder is apparently tricking me into thinking I have a UTI but how you fix that is anyone's guess. My Dr was brilliant and very understanding, he was a true star!
Just out of interest, were your chronic symptoms just the pain down below/vaginal irritation/repeated loo visits or did it include a temperature and aching all over? I have just had a test sample sent away and intend to see the GP about the results when I get back from holiday. I get bouts of this just before going away. I suspect that some of it is anxiety related. I get stressed about being ill on holiday!
-
My urine symptoms which weren't caused by infections still caused shivering feelings because I was in discomfort so the body was on high alert. VA treatment eased it ;)
Worrying about having a panic attack tomorrow :'(
-
Happy to report that sinuses are not nearly so bad today.
-
Backache on the mend. Felt a little jittery while in the supermarket this morning.

Backache, again - not great today, usually manage to walk it off not happening today.

Haven't asked the dentist as it's a fairly recent thing.

tinnitus - my R ear is singing along to itself >:( ::) >shakes head hard<
-
Mine is lurking in the background today. I think whooshing is also a form of tinnitus sparkle.
I spoke to my mum this morning (75) and she says this whole peri stuff does eventually get better and the other side is mostly sunny with occasional rainy days.
Galadriel x
-
Sparkle, hi! I haven't had tinnitus! But there's still time before tea! Hope you're OK other Han that? I have funny kind of hratburn today and have had to swallow down the start of a panic attack. Am out all day for work so need to get a grip. Heartburn starts me down all sorts of dark alleys... Actually I had never, ever had it till this year. Has anybody else found that? I never even burped really - always envied those who could do it on demand!
Have just accidentally ordered cappuccino rather than decaf - it is absolutely lovely and makes me realise there is a difference! Will just drink half - palpitations will at least take my mind off the heartburn (which has taken my mind off the piles and toothache of last week!)
Am longing for old age now!!
-
going to look up tinnitus. I keep 'hearing things' its not voices in my head honest, but like I hear background voices and think my phone is going off or the pc is making a noise when it isnt.
Todays complaint is 'tears' feeling low.
-
:hug:for sadlinda, and anyone else feeling down.......

Sore throat :(
-
Thank you Ellie and Sparkle :-*
-
Itchyness under the ribs on both sides :-\ - I want to scratch, hard but can't get underneath. I had this as a child and was told it is 'imagination' - it happens when I have a cold/cough for more than a few days.
Across my back now >:( - can't reach to scratch but it's under the skin anyway :(
-
Itchyness 'up there' >:( and on gentle probing, blood ……. could we find a pharmacy down here :o ……. so have squeezed hard the small amount of Ovestin1mg left which has eased the symptoms. Home 2-morrow so will do a 'load' - why is it when I am away from home that symptoms start :P
-
Throat clearing, wooly head, anxiety, palpatations blah blah blah, sorry don't want to go on, too many to mention. I love this thread, it made me laugh even though it is all about the horrid symptoms. ;D
-
sore right breast for about a week - probably due to being busy in the garden i.e. weeding/lifting but my brain wonders if, as it's the op side :-\
-
It's intermittent. I woke with it early then the soreness went, been OK all day ::) even though I've been gardening. Will see how it goes over the weekend ……. it's probably postural.
So far no complaint to add …..
-
CLKD - Get your right boob checked, it's been a week
Hopefully it's nothing but better get it checked
-
OK ……….. the soreness moves around ::) ………

Sore ear :(
-
Deep inside or around the outer part? Mine itch deep down a lot :(
-
Just inside the canal, it is sore and swollen. It itched yesterday - I have made it worse ::) :(
-
The eustachian tubes become narrow as we age ::)
-
It's called swimmers ear Grangravy.
I still wash my hair in the shower but I carefully dry my ear out with a cotton pad and then sit with the hairdryer and blow just slightly warm air into it to dry it out properly. It's really helped me as I have had so many infections that my hearing has been affected in my left ear.
Since I've started making a effort to dry properly ....up until now,...touch wood....I've been a lot better.

Sore throat :-\ …… deep down on 1 side.

Burn on finger seems to be infected :-\
-
Oh what did you do?
-
My other ear has done this for years. It does not help when your ear gets sweaty in the night. I get sore throats from allergies and it all gets mixed up.
Anyway, it is much less painful this morning. I will take note of Honeybun's tips for drying ears after hair washing.
-
Insomnia (great when you need to get up at 4:45...), loose stools, slightly itchy boob and a tick bite to obsess about....
-
I don't think they prescribe stuff that quickly in Sweden for a tick bite. You're supposed to "keep an eye on it". If it starts to look bad, then you go to the doctor...
-
Nerve pressure in face. Had physio but I can't see if feel so bad from clenching.
-
DO NOT KEEP AN EYE on a tick bite! If necessary visit a Vet. for it to be removed if still present. Lyme disease is not known in many parts of the World and can affect patients for there rest of their lives.
Nothing yet so far ………. the sore throat eased. I do have a background headache :-\
-
The tick is long gone. I remove ticks off of the dog and cat daily, as ticks ate supercommon here in Sweden. Unfortunately.
-
Deer = ticks ::). Each time we went to the Lake District my dog came back with at least 5, I got to recognise the wee beasties!
-
Just read up on the recommendations for tick bites here. You wait and keep an eye on it for a week and if the redness is not gone by then you go see a doctor. Unless the red area around the bite becomes bigger than 5 cm in diameter, then you call right away.
-
:thankyou: Sparkle - knew that I had read a story relating to Lyme disease in recent weeks but couldn't remember where ::). Not many UK GPs recognise the symptoms apparently so always good to get bumps, swellings, rashes etc. checked, go to a Pharmacy if necessary.
We both have dry throats :-\ but the itchy ears has improved and the sore throat went …..
-
Lyme disease has been a big news story here just recently as the founder of Phones4U and his whole family apparently all have Lyme disease and his son has been particularly badly affected. I thought once you got the bullseye rash it was all a bit too late? My daughter still gets nerve pain where the tick was on her back.
S x
In Sweden you can possibly get Lyme disease or the meningitis disease (TBE - don't know if you call it that too?) from ticks. Fortunately, mosts ticks don't carry the diseases, but in certain areas of Sweden TBE is quite common and vaccination is recommended if you live/spend a lot of time there. Otherwise, the recommendation is as I described it before. You wait and watch the bite carefully for a week. You usually get a redness around the tick bite, and some itching, but if it doesn't go away after about a week you should see a doctor. Or, like I wrote above, if the redness is greater than 5 centimeters in diameter. If I called the doctor's today and told them that I removed a tiny tick from the back of my thigh two days ago, and that it was a little red and itchy still, they would tell me to call them again in a few days if it didn't improve. I showed the bite to my mom today and she said that it looked exactly like hers did in the beginning. She was bit a few weeks ago and can still tell where the bite was (a slightly raised area).
Ticks suck... :( !!

May I laugh ………… :P

cold sores, on mouth and up nose :(
just ordered some 'Lysine' to see if that helps, but will be a few days yet. Anyone have experience of these things and how to get shut? something else I only got in the last few years.

Herpes zosta = cold sores. There is a medication to apply immediately the itching notifies a sufferer …. and do avoid oral sex ;)
I had mouth ulcers if 'low'.
Didn't get the Germ - yet. DH is coughing, spluttering - like we both were 3 weeks ago ::)

Stress can cause viruses to erupt, think of shingles (same virus family ;) ). Mum and M in L both had bad falls and both had shingles a few weeks later. Same GP told them it was shock.

oh fgs, I am doomed then. I have L-ysine on order that is meant to be good. fingers crossed.

Germ update - claggy throat but not as tired

Not sure if I mentioned this elsewhere yesterday. I walked (or make that stomped) into the open cupboard door yesterday, gave myself a big bump to head. Still got the headache, had enough of it now, hubs reckons is slight concussion I have had nausea feeling but no actual sickness or vision probs.
It is meno related as I have been in such a dreadful mood last couple of days I am seriously thinking of trying to enrol for some sort of anger management :(
-
It is NEVER 'slight', 'just' or ……… concussion is a serious closed head injury. If you have symptoms you should go to your GP! OUCH by the way, I remember falling flat onto my face several years ago but I have no headache etc.. Lots of bruising though.
I have become clumsy in recent years. Have you a cushion you could thump?
-
headache almost gone now. Quite right I do need a cushion (or someone/thing) to punch often. Yoga tonight so fingers crossed that will help.

BJ, I sympathise. I started a BCP a month ago and have had terrible cramps, bloating and constipation ever since. It's been waking me up at night. Itchy, sore, gritty eyes - does anyone use eye drops and if so, which and do they help? :-\
-
Not drops but the Optex spray.
It's sprayed on closed eyelids to sort out the meibomian glands.
Meibomian gland disfunction is said to be the leading cause of dry eye disease
http://www.aao.org/eyenet/article/rethinking-meibomian-gland-dysfunction-how-to-spot?julyaugust-2011
-
:thankyou: - must make a note!
-
I have Meibomian Gland disorder leading to Blepharitis. I tried the Optrex spray on closed lids but it was no good for me. I have practically an unused bottle still in date if anyone would like it.
I have an eye bag which you heat in the microwave which clears the secretions from the glands, Blephasol which cleans the debris away and Systane eye drops and this regime keeps it comfortable at bay. Blephasol and Systane are available on prescription if you have this disorder and not just dry eyes, but Systane is still good as it lasts longer than artificial tears. :)

Another migraine. It's like being pregnant again as I was ill then with them. I've got a dodgy neck and I think that is setting them off more easily too.

Oh Coldethyl, poor you, you sound like me last year, I'm sure my crunchy neck didn't help either.
S x
Thanks. It sort of goes only to pop back again. Worse this week as I came on. The upside is I'm getting a lot of intermittent fasting done as even the smell of food is making my head hurt.
-
Oh that's horrible, smells, tastes and light set mine off. Since my last period finished about a week ago my neck has been really crunchy again and I'm definitely lacking in energy, mood isn't great either not is my tummy. Do you find similar these days?
S x
I find I'm rubbish the week before period and during it then for few days afterwards. My anxiety keeps bubbling up the week of period and few days before. I said to OH this morning that I'd just like one day when I felt ok without something rearing its head.to be fair, I had a run of decent days a week or so ago so there is some light. Can you get physio for your neck? I had some years ago when migraines really bad and the exercises helped, though of course I stopped doing them and now can't remember what it was I did. X

God do I ache down both arms neck shoulders and right finger head feels heavy again too, it feels like it's going to topple right off and legs feel strange too ( that's probably my ms) my balance is slightly worse too.

Just before this day ends😳
Migraine
Stiff neck

Agony indigestion and tummy pain after chinese tonight...not to mention low mood because of it all. :'( what a life!

Nagging headache since I woke this morning. I'll have to take something for it before I go to bed.

Exhaustion
Dizziness
Nausea
Indigestion
Aching limbs

I HATE that too! worrying, feeling ill, will panic take over scenario B4 an event :'(. Fortunately we don't have anyone likely to have an event on that scale these days >phew<. Knowing that I have my emergency med. helps get me through.
Today I've had intermittent sharp pains under my right chin area: unrelated to yawning, eating or talking - of course it's got to be a 'stone' hasn't it ::) in the salivary gland! and I've had a sharp pain over the top of the left ankle region - I'm in bed, on here typing and still had the sharp pain, enough to make me go 'oh' ::).

Learning curve then ? Grazing works for me, when I remember ::)

Wisdom tooth growing into my cheek (has been for 30 odd yrs) is playing up. Its sore, & stings when i eat acidy foods. Been salt water rinsing for a week now, today im fed up with it :(

Oil of cloves dropped into the gum area? Or whisky will do the same thing, something about osmosis?

Can't hurt CLKD ;) but i really want it to heal.

How about your neck and shoulders, bending over 1 even on a table can cause problems …….
-
Yep all of the above CLKD - well the neck & shoulders will probably be tonight :(. It's an on-going problem).
I'm seeing a neurologist at the hospital next month to find out what is the cause, & hopefully get a diagnosis.
-
For me it's usually bad posture ::) - i.e. sciatica when I don't bend correctly when weeding, putting dog's leads on or not being careful when looking at cabinets in antique fairs. I've ditched the ironing board in case that was contributing to the aches and pains ;)
-
Today it's my period. I can't believe I've waited how many years for them to finally stop, and now that they've gone I pay $$$ for hormones to bring them back :bang:
-
Better now ? It might not last as long ;)

Wisdom tooth woes continue. Upper stomach spasm/gripes woke me in night and still there-im waiting for ct scan and sigmoidoscopy to find out what it is.
-
Sacroiliac joint in my lower back being a swine. Every time I try to get fit by doing lots of walking etc it plays up. Ah well, one more creaking, cracking joint to add to the others.....and an excuse to rest ;D
-
Why dont you just have your wisdom tooth extracted, it took literally 5 mins to take mine out and never looked back, you dont need them, esp if they are giving you problems.
-
It took hours for my Wisdom teeth to be sorted - saw a Surgeon, waited for a few weeks, into Hospital for 24 hours, 2 weeks off work :-\ …….. and THE PAIN - had I known I would have kept them!
Nausea today :-[

My middle son had two of his out last month under GA. He worked from home the next day and then back to work as normal the day after. He had trouble eating for a couple of weeks while the stitches healed. It was uncomfortable of course but he dosed himself up with fairly strong painkillers and had a lot of soup and icecream!
Hope you feel less queasy later CLKD.

Thanks. Himself had 1 out in the Dentist's Surgery and 10 years later, 2 out under GA - his first Hospital visit ever. He was home by mid-afternoon ::)
Queasyness went >phew<! Nowt to report so far ::)
-
Todays woes...delayed allergic rash from yesterdays ct scan. And my piriton is out of date.
-
I think it must Sparkle. The ct scan is to do with abdominal pains I had after Christmas, I will be having a Sigmoidoscopy on tuesday. Ive had a ct scan before with no problems. ...but i have reacted to other things before.
Same thing happened a few years ago (delayed rash)after a general anaesthetic, by day two i was pink & itchy so took piriton and the gp arranged for some allergy testing, which didnt really help. The next ga i had i was given antihistamine by the anaesthetist and was fine.
-
Yes, silly of me really because i knew this afternoon when i kept pushing imaginary hair off my face that it was probably the start of a reaction. But i didnt bother to take anything, and then just before i came to bed i went to get the piriton and realised its out of date :-\ and now the smoke alarm has started to beep....battery must need replacing. Suppose I'd better get out of bed & sort that, or i def won't be getting any sleep
-
How out of date? I would take one as I never read the 'best/use' before ::)
'throat' :-[

CLKD I find gargling with warm water with cayenne pepper in helps for a sore throat, or some soothing lem and honey.

snap Sparkle- it sucks- have a virtual very gentle hug. My fibromyalgia has been shocking this week and I can barely walk today- just as well I don't need to as I have just come back from out of hours with nausea, vertigo and a very painful ear- apparently she can't tell if infected as it is now completely bunged with wax again so back to olive oil drops. Tested me for all manner of nasties so at least my mind is at rest a bit x
-
I think worrying about the dizziness I've being getting set me off this week along with upping my exercise routine. I was convinced that my BP was dangerously high( it's ok - top figure up a bit but that's my white coat syndrome an anxiety ) which made me worry that my dizziness was that. Instead it was something completely different and could have been put to bed earlier if I wasn't so anxious about going to the GP.
I do find that my fibro gets worse if I'm stressed. It started after a fall years ago as back and leg pain but got worse as MIL and FIL both diagnosed with terminal illness within weeks. I think the hormonal upheaval of peri is perfect conditions for fibro and CFS/ME to worsen.
-
Enjoy your bath. I can't have a long soak until ear better as I've to avoid getting water in it and I'm so short that I always end up with head in water!! I do find that fibro can be worse if my period is on- certainly the migraines that I get with it are worse then. X
-
Feel better soon. It's like I try to explain to hubby- he has a rotten cold but knows it'll go soon. This you've no idea when it will end and that just makes it so much harder to cope with, I think x

Achy wrists today and so tired. Periods so light even on Hrt that I'm wondering if the end of this hideousness is near. Doubt it but one can hope ::)
-
Hormone upheaval can affect joints. Do you take pain relief?
-
Not usually CLKD , sometimes put an ice pack on by the end of the day. xx
-
I take Nurofen successfully, as soon as a headache begins or my back starts to ache, I swallow a tablet. Himself uses those 'deep heat' creams, I expect it's the rubbing action that helps ;) …… with sciatica I find 1 tablet and a brisk walk usually eases the pain.
-
The whole of my back is painful, my neck is painful, I have a very painful trigger point in my shoulder, my legs ache and I generally feel like cr*p. Something tells me I need to go back up to a full 50mg hrt patch. I feel I've aged 30 years in the month I've been on the half patch but until this week I really thought I was doing ok. Damn.....
You mentioned your husband uses that deep heat cream CLKD, I think I need to dig some out of the first aid box tonight otherwise I may need a winch and pulley to get my achy bones up to bed !

You need to go to the loo! How on earth are you managing if you can't do that ?!
X
-
I have to let go in small amounts .......... TMI? I need to take some pain relief B4 my bath. I think it's because I didn't bend correctly when loading the dishwasher :-X

Dry, itchy, sore eyes.
The Optician has suggested Lacri-Lube, to be used at night - I had no idea you could buy "lube" for the eyes!

I was told to use that, it didn't really work for me. And then I had greasy eyes the next day x

Fortunately after my bath the sciatica eased enough to be able to sit down when necessary ;-).
As for itchy eyes, mine feel dry, scratchy - like they have half of Brighton Beach in them :sigh: then of course I rub, so they itch, feel dry ......

Annie, I have persevered with using the Lacri-Lube (only at night, just before bed would never use it during the day) and it's proving to be really good stuff - it has made a BIG difference to my dry eyes. It's strange stuff - like putting vaseline in the eyes - and I can't see that well to get upstairs - however now I don't wake up in the night scratching my eyes which is a big bonus. It washes off well in the shower the next morning. I may be hooked on using this long-term as I'm drying out everywhere like an old prune. Maybe worth another try?

Hi . Yes I only get dry eyes during the night, they're fine daytime. I'm a contact lens wearer and know what you mean about not being able to see when applied lol. I'm on day 16 of Tibolone and I've noticed the last few days (could be coincidental) that they are improved, not perfect but can open and focus much quicker
If things go bad again I'll definitely try the gel again x

Slow transit :-[
-
I use Systane eye drops and get them on prescription although you can buy them otc. They are good too as they coat the eyeball and last a number of hours. There are also systane gel drops which last even longer, overnight :)
Slow transit is frustrating, annoying, antisocial and an unnecessary, stupid thing. I think hormones(or lack of) can cause it as it occurs without warning at regular intervals with no change of diet or anything, and I make sure I drink enough every day. >:( It's worse if I am out of routine or rushed in the morning.

I am looking for a similar thread but can't find it. Yet.
My complaint is: the Forum is iffy ........ causing repetitive strain injury ::)

We are redecorating the kitchen ' together' - think Laurel and Hardy
without the laughs....I will suggest a way of doing something which he ' poo poos'
then 5 mins later he announces the same thing like it is a genius idea.
Dark, blowy, wet and howly week up here. I'm surviving on paint fumes!
-
How's the decorating? Paint pot over his head yet, that would give him something to complain about ;)
-
Kitchen done! Looks great apart from the kitchen cabinets are donkies years old.
DH been quiet today.....we fell out over who to get to quote on a small plastering / papering job.
He asked for a quote from this local guy (shady dealer me thinks) who took 3 weeks to get back and then
another 2 to get a quote out to us (£500 to re-paper a 6ft square hall??!!). I said I'd get another quote,
got recommendations.....and (stop the press)....it's a female decorator. Should have seen his face.
" But that's a girl".!! He;d rather pay a wide boy over the odds that give a highly recommended
vagina baring person a shot :o
P.S Back on the thread.......Health complaint of the day - warty little black things on finger knuckles. Keep trying to do my own
surgery on them - think they're maybe fungal....not on top of the skin, like little pin ****s of black.
-
? paint ?
Get the warty things looked at by a local Pharmacist, who can recommend treatment ;-)
I am sneezing .......... rhinitis, bugga ..........

I had these too. I think they went away on their own, after wart treatment failed

Guilt :'(
-
My dear you know if someone came to you with the same accusation of guilt you would advise them that
of course they have absolutely no reason whatsoever to feel guilty. It is usually the person who dumps the
supposed guilt onto someone without having ever been in the same situation that should feel the guilt.
I am sure your mother is in exactly the best place for her medical, emotional ,physical needs to be met.
She is warm, well fed, entertained and well looked after.
You give so much to so many people on this forum. You should sleep soundly at night.
(from a person who still feels guilt for not seeing her own mother for nearly 3 years by choice - even though said mother tried to
ruin my kids lives and destroy my family and shows zero remorse!). So I know it's hard. Don't allow this ' friend' to mess with your head though.

:thankyou:

I swear my whole head rings, it's doing it now. I think I'll put a recorder against my head just to convince myself that no one else can hear it ;D

Tinnitus
-
Yep.
Low back pain
L bursitis in the early hours
-
Yep, I have tinnitus too. Worse when I have a headache.
Had a bad back for a week or so, it’s better now. 🤞🏼
-
Cancer down both legs >:( ::) ........... due to low back pain :-\. I have a R sided bursisitis and exercises which I forget to do. I've been gardening so that's the reason. However .......... ???
How did U help your back pain?
-
:bouncing:
-
My back muscle pain is ongoing even if I do the exercises given to me, I have been on the threadmill lately and I have given myself another flare up, plus the stress of selling and buying a property, it all makes things worse.
I take paracetamol and use Ibruprofen gel rubbed in every day. I also have Epsom salt baths but they are very limited because of VA.
The salt baths are a luxury with added lavender or clary sage essential oils, makes me feel so much better after but will expect a small flare up of VA because of it, but worth it.
-
?? wear knickers ??
-
Plastic knickers, might work!! ;D
-
That reminds me of the baby plastic pants over nappies in the 1950s ::)

Tinnitus
-
I was searching for this thread ::)
Tinnitus is a nuisance. My head is buzzing/ringing slightly out the back all the while :-\. Nuisance ain't it!
-
A big nuisance; for me it comes and goes. Cup of tea at 3pm is prime time for it to start
-
Is that when you begin to notice it, I never know how long it's been buzzing until I realise ::)
-
Yes, l think it’s because that’s when l sit down and have a bit of a quiet time. Maybe it’s going on anyway, but l don’t notice it 🤷♀️

Rib pain/top of stomach hurts

Turquoise vaginal discharge 😱😱😱
Until I realised that I hadn't washed my hands from my art class and some paint had come off on my finger when i wiped 🤣
The good thing is, my health anxiety must be improving because even I with my active imagination, couldn't find a cancer to link that symptom to!
-
 Brilliant, Penguin. That gave me a good belly laugh 😆
-
I seriously am embarrassingly nuts.
There have been a couple of omg blood in the bottom of the shower episodes too... sock fluff from my favourite pink or purple wool winter socks

Beetroot can freak me out :-\
Oh yeah I had red wee once over Christmas when I'd overdone the pickled beetroot that I'd asked husband to buy me. Refused to eat anymore after that just in case it happened again.
-
Oh it will happen. And yep, we will forget :great:
