Tell us how you cope with poor sleeping

Before HRT, I tried every over-the-counter product out there and prescriptions are not an option for me. My problem was falling asleep and then waking up in the middle of the night often. It was affecting my work and social life. As soon as my doctor put me on progesterone, it helped. I also take a very strong CBD gummy an hour before bedtime. There are still times when I have trouble falling asleep still but if I get my weight training and walking in 5x a week it helps even more.

I've tried searching this thread without too much success - just one member mentions using it - but has anyone used The Sleep Clinic? I've done the two free webinars, but was rather turned off by the clock counting down to make me sign up. Also, unusually in 2024, there are no Google or Trustpilot reviews online. On the other hand, I am desperate to get my sleep sorted out, so pretty much willing to try anything!

Another up date.
I have carried on with all the measures I instigated in the past.
In addition to oestrogel and utrogestan I now take 1mg SR melatonin one hour before bed time. It has completely solved my insomnia. I fall asleep easily and consistently and wake refreshed . I seem to have had both deep and REM sleep. It has cut down my awakenings, but if I do wake I seem to go back to sleep easily. I do not have any hangover effects the next day.
I am 60 and have suffered from insomnia for the last 5 years. It seems I do not make as much melatonin as I need. I hope this post may help someone, as insomnia can be soul destroying.

Which melatonin product do you take please Martha?
martha:
I take 1 mg of Circadin an hour before bedtime . It is a 2mg MR tablet , but I use a pill cutter to cut it in half. It still retains some of the modified release properties. It gives me 8 hours of good quality sleep.
