Just started these tonight and the burning!!! Not sure I can sleep.
Or face this each night for three weeks.
Advice?

Hi Mouse60. I see from the patient information leaflet that this is a side effect for 1 in 10 people at the beginning of treatment so hopefully this will resolve. Of course you may be sensitive to one of the ingredients/fillers so bear this in mind if things don't improve.
You will get lots of support on here.

Hello Mouse and welcome to the forum. I also could not get on with Imvaggis and they caused my skin to feel sore and irritated. Taz2 makes a good point about the skin could hurt at the beginning as your skin is sore anyway and you may need to allow the skin time to get used to it.

It might help to also use a feminine moisturiser like Sylk or Yes, it's quite common to feel side effects until your body accepts the pessary.

Thanks all. Burning not there this morning and I did sleep (with paracetamol) so carrying on. Grateful for comments.

I am very happy to hear this. Thank you for the update. :)

I'm glad too. Let us know how it goes.

Not as much burning second night. Slept without painkillers. I am hopeful. Not sure about sex though whilst using these. The patient leaflet is supremely unhelpful and off putting on many accounts.
-
Quick question too - I was using Replens before. Can I still use that with Imvaggis? Anyone know? 🤷♀️
-
It might be better not to use Replens, there are much better products available. Perhaps try Sylk, or one of the Yes products. Good to hear the stinging has subsided. As to sex, it would be best to leave any PIV activity until you have healed a bit, but then you should insert the pessary after sex, otherwise you won't get the benefit.

Thanks!

Glad to hear things are easing for you.
When I found out the ingredients in Replens included a chemical I use to clean my washing machine with, I looked for a more natural product and bought Sylk which is a very gentle moisturiser.

I use these & have found that they burn occasionally. Not sure if it's when I don't push it in as far as it should go?

I’m using Imvaggis and it’s the only one that suits me. After trying vagirux which for me did nothing

Hello Dizzy me. Welcome to the forum. It is good to hear the imvaggis suits you. :)

Good to hear other experiences. Shocked about Replens! Imvaggis getting much less burny night by night. Bad day today on the feeling I need a wee front though. Hope that improves.
-
Treating VA needs a lot of patience. it took me four months to feel the improvements but nearly two years on I no longer suffer with symptoms with daily dose of Vagifem and a small amount of Ovestin.
You will get there :)

Thanks Ayesha!
I really hope so as I feel a bit low today with the constant feeling I need a wee. The pessaries are doing a great job I think though and no burning now, a week and a half in.
-
Not having the burning feeling after a week and a half is wonderful progress! I am really sorry you are feeling low. I can totally understand that. It is a horrid feeling to keep needing to wee.

That's great progress, Mouse60. Still early days yet but you seem to be doing well! :)
