Title: Very worried and anxious
Post by: MrsRoo on July 01, 2022, 09:20:33 PM
Hi everyone, I hope you’re all doing ok.

I’m very worried and anxious and am hoping that someone can offer some words of comfort please.

I’m on Oestrogel (3 pumps) and Utrogestan and have been taking the Utrogestan for twelve days a month for three years now. For about 3 months I’ve just had spotting instead of a ‘period’ at the end of the Utrogestan phase and my Gp has advised me to change to a continuous regime and has booked a trans-vaginal ultrasound scan to make sure all is ok. My scan is on the 11th July.

In recent weeks I’ve had pelvic pain and my GP thinks it’s diverticulitis (I have IBS and there’s a history of diverticula disease in my family) but the antibiotics don’t seem to be easing the pain. I also have a fibroid but the GP didn’t think that this could be causing my problems.

I’ve been spotting again today and am worrying myself sick. I had a hysteroscopy in 2019 (for spotting on HRT) and all was well then apart from the fibroid. I know that you’re not medically trained and can’t offer any medical advice but I just wanted to share with people who understand.

Thanks for reading,

Roo xx

Of course it's a worry but ovaries can continue to pump out oestrogen which may well cause similar symptoms.

Get some questions ready for when you go for the scan.  After the results are back you can then decide which regime to try.  Will you have the scan prior to changing?

Thank you for replying CLKD. I really appreciate it.

The GP advised me to change to continuous immediately. I’ve been here before as I had this very issue in 2019 and nothing was found. It’s just the pain that’s worrying me really.

I don’t seem to get answered on here despite offering support and advice myself so I think it’s time to say bye bye to MM.

Hi MrsRoo
I am sorry you have decided to leave MM. I did not see your post it was only yesterday though. I have posted asking for help before but it took a couple of days for one person to reply. I like you offer support but sometimes I just do not have the experience or knowledge to advise others on particular matters.
I too have had fibroids and post menopausal bleeds. I had a scan in May after a bleed and it showed thickened lining, small fibroid. I was then sent for a hysteroscopy where they found a polyp that was the culprit. All removed and I have been advised to change my HRT. Try not to worry in the meantime, the good thing is you are being checked. It maybe that the culprit is the diverticulitis causing the pain that I know is not nice, my Nan had it.
Good luck with the scans. I have everything crossed for you . X

If you're on sequential HRT, I'd think it's pretty normal to be bleeding?!

That's what is supposed to happen when you stop the progesterone. If you are getting lighter than usual bleeding, that's not really a cause for concern, it probably just means you're ready to switch to a continuous HRT. So I'm not too sure why your GP is referring you in terms of the bleeding side of things - if it's for the abdominal pain, then of course that's a good reason.

I can't help with the pain side of things...

You are fortunate that you are able to contact a GP to get advice. Hopefully you will  get some reassurance from the scan on the 11th of July.

However, you only raised the question yesterday! People are busy, things they have to do.
Remember, you did get a reply from CLKD, you were not totally ignored.

If MM is not meeting your needs it would seem apt that you say farewell. Good luck for the future.

Ah, sorry I didn't respond. I'm a teacher. I spent the day trying to get 150 different kids to magically learn stuff. The pandemic has really played a number on them and levels of anxiety are literally fizzing. After school I had to take my dog to the vets. Apologies that I didn't provide you with the service you so clearly believe you're entitled to.

Hiya,
I understand why you are anxious .. however....
Looking at  your post.. it was posted at 9:30 pm... So many of us probably aren't online or checking sites as frequently at that hour.. Even now it's only 2:46 pm.. We try to be as helpful as we can.. None of us are online 24/7.. have work other things going on.. Its not even been 24 hours since you posted..
Give folks a chance..
If you don't feel this group is the right fit for you... thats okay too..
I'm fairly new to the group..
I for one have found it very helpful and supportive when I've given people a chance to respond.
Good luck with your issues.. hopefully your GP can settle your anxieties.. and queries..

It's always worth bumping a post yourself if there are no replies. In this case there just wasn't enough time for replies but sometimes the system seems to lose all the 'unread posts' and I don't think there are many people who trawl through all the forums to find anything new. Except for CLKD of course  :)

Hi! I get alerts for 'new' ........... some want an instant response, forgetting that Forums are now 24/7 as well as being World Wide.

Well, quite. And the OP walked off in a huff within 24 hours of posting ... Kind of weird behaviour for someone who seems to want to offer and receive support based on comfort ... /rolls eyes.

How are you, Nas? Getting any more comfy with things?

Or someone suffering from meno symptoms. I agree about the timing but my OH will tell you my behaviour has at times been equally irrational.
