Is facial flushing hot flushes?
KaraShannon:
This month I've had facial flushing, every night around 11pm.
Sometimes changing to a new patch calms it down (even though it shouldn't yet need changing), or it calms after about an hour or so.
I've never had hot flushes, don't feel hot, except for facial skin, and only had facial flushing some years ago and it wasn't clear the reason (though it seemed to stop with hrt)
Is this hot flushing? sorry if it's a daft question but I've not dealt with feeing hot before and still don't, I've got my thermals on as I type, it's only my face.
I'm on evorel sequi, so only on estradiol 50 and I'm now 53. Thanks

Hi Kara, yes, sounds like a flush, every morning, usually without fail, about half an hour after having my first cuppa of the day,my face heats up,JUST my face but in the evening it can start on my chest,or sometimes it's the abdomen.

KaraShannon:
thanks Jaypo, I just remember women (when I was young) being really hot, and taking clothes off and fanning themselves. I don't have any of that just the hot and red face and only this month.
I suppose it is a flush, and maybe I should be grateful I don't feel all that heat others do.

I think they can vary between individuals. I didn't recognise mine as flushes as they never started spontaneously, only after an external heat source such as a hot drink. They also went when I started hrt. Perhaps best to think of them as thermo regulatory malfunction.
SundayGirl:
I used to get a warm face every single night at 10pm on the dot. Only my face, never anywhere else.
