Natural treatment for insomnia?
« on: June 13, 2025, 11:00:09 AM »

Hello

I wondered if any of you are having insomnia problems and if so have you found any supplements that help?

I’ve tried so many things, but no luck so far.

Morning. How old R U, what R your periods up to, how is your overall diet?  When do U eat?

When I worked in a very busy job my head was 'going' all the while, even in sleep.  One night I woke and thought 'well this waking doesn't affect. me too badly in the day' went back to sleep.  Sounds trite but never had real problems after although sometimes I wake to C whether I've been asleep  ::)

How is lack of sleep affecting you?  Relaxation therapy; a good bedtime routine; no gadgets/blue light after 9.30 p.m.; no TV or exciting books!

I have in the past used anti-travel sickness tablets, 3 nights in a row to break the habit.  All good!

It's nice of you to reply and it's great that you seem to be sleeping well.
But it is a serious, life changing level of insomnia, so was looking for ideas on supplements

Why do U think that supplements might help?  I wouldn't bother as 1 can never be certain about the content of capsules etc., whereas I found the Kwells really useful and have swallowed an anti-histamine.  Of course, the non-drowsy version  ::)

Valerian is supposedly good as is lavender however ............. I don't think that there is an immediate answer.

Insomnia was one of my worst meno symptoms and I couldn't find anything that worked either. I went on hrt and that cured it but without it my next step would have been melatonin gummies. You can't get them in the UK but can from the US. There are posts on it so if you're interested use the search function. Or buy a flock of sheep. When I'm up til 4am lambing I have no trouble getting to sleep  :(.

OK thanks for the replies
I have searched here and on other forums for this, but was hoping to be able to chat to someone in a similar position to myself who had found a solution.
