Menopause, Estrogen and Migraines
« on: April 11, 2025, 07:45:13 PM »

Are there any articles in past issues on Vaginal Estrogen and migraines?

If not would it be possible to do an article on Menopause re Migraines and Estrogen please.

I suffered severe migraines when I was a young adult related to my periods. I had a migraine with aura about 3 days before every period.
My migraines stopped with my periods. Now aged 69 they returned when I started using vaginal estrogen. After 3 months of Ovestin I suffered severe migraines again. I stopped using it andvthe migraines subsided. I then used a half dose of Gynest and all seemed well but suddenly after 3 months the migraines started up again.
It is so frustrating because vaginal estrogen really started to help my gsm symptoms.
I would like to understand why this is happening and what course of action is next. I would like to understand why vaginal estrogen appears to be triggering my migraines and whether it is common.
