It's absolutely ok, I was advised to do so by my consultant.
I used the patches for IVF where obviously the stakes are much higher if it wasn't being absorbed, and it worked as intended.
Firstly I would make sure you are cleaning the skin with rubbing alcohol at the application site to strip the natural oils from the skin to improve adhesion.
Apply the patch when this has dried (takes seconds).
Using heat to bond the patch to your skin is another tip I learned from the IVF community - a hand warmer, hair dryer or hot water bottle can be used.
Then stick a cut out square of hypafix or softpore dressing that is a bit bigger than the patch over the top. These can be bought on Amazon.
You will not lose your patch again and can exercise and shower daily with this and it doesn't come off.
However I personally wouldn't want the hassle of patches long term and take oral estrogen, which for many women is a better option than the tedious routine around getting patches to stick.
