Erratic periods on utrogestan
« on: February 18, 2025, 06:50:57 PM »

Been on oestrogel 3 pumps since July and started utrogestan 200mg day 14-28days in August.
The main reason they agreed to a diagnosis of perimenopause was all my symptoms got worse just before a period  and my period became very light and only lasting 2 or 3 days.
Since starting utrogestan my periods have been erratic, some months slightly heavy for 5 days, 1 month I missed and last few have been early, this month's came 10days early was light and lasted 4 days.
I'm at GP on Thursday as a lot of my main symptoms like dizziness, pins and needles and fatigue are getting worse just before and during my period even though I'm not bleeding much.
I do have low iron, ferritin and transferritin saturation but taking supplements. I'm bit anemic as my haemoglobin is perfectly in range.
I'm just so over this. I was planning on changing careers but don't think I will pass the fitness test at the minute.
Went for a meal last Thurs and took all dizzy half way through so we had to leave. Today I was driving and started to have the instant fatigue, luckily wasn't far from home.
Just want to havd one day I'm not panicking I'm about to collapse or have a heart attack, I know it's ridiculous and anxiety is making me paranoid.

Have you considered taking a combined pill continuously for menstrual suppression?

This would keep you bleed free and hormonally stable.

I have been on this for many years and wouldn't even entertain having a menstrual cycle.

Regarding the dizziness, I live with severe dysautonomia resulting from a brain injury so presyncope and syncope are part of my day to day experience anyway, but this was exacerbated massively when I lost access to my combined pill during the pandemic and made me even more thankful to get back on it again.

I had been on the pill for menstrual suppression since before my accident so hadn't appreciated how much it was helping me until I lost it.

This might just be something that could help you too, and certainly worth exploring.
