We went to Versailles at the end of June, had been wanting to go there for years. It exceeded expectations, was wonderful, but we didn’t stop walking, lots of exercise but it was extremely hot. Great food and got to practice my rubbish French! Ooh la la!

Hotel? My last trip to Paris was a sponsored 3-legged hitchhike there for rag week >cough< years ago. Slept on a beach under the Eiffel Tower.
Sitting in the airport waiting for my flight to Italy. It's delayed...

It’s a long and very silly story. I was originally in there brushing up on my a Italian which I did classes for years ago. Then I got distracted by various other things like Romanian as my daughters boyfriend is from there originally. Then I decided because I love Abba I’d learn Swedish, but tried a bit if Norwegian too, and I seemed to get on better with it so a year later still doing it every day 🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤩🤩

Ooh Jaypo yes I should, but I’m a bad flyer so other ways to get there, like a Scandinavian catapult maybe. We usually holiday in the uk but branched out slightly this year. First time abroad for 20 years! Maybe we’ll do further afield next year!

So pleased that we don't travel abroad ............. many countries suffering intense fires, the map on the BBC shows more alight than is not.  :'(. The Aude in France ablaze, le Tour went through 5 weeks ago  :o

Then parts of the UK - Yorkshire yesterday - on fire  :'( :-\

Just got back from Lanzarote this week, had Calima Saturday and the last few days were hotter than usual for August hitting 42°in the shade. The usual wind that keeps the temperature down was even hot. Headed for the beach hoping for a breeze but nothing. Everyone was in the sea as that was the coolest place. So many Calimas this year!

42 degrees Deidre? …OMG. 🥵 that would’ve killed me!
We’re going November.
Then off to Mexico February.
