Did you start out with vagifem & estriol cream twice daily or have you built up to it ?

Just wondering if you are overstimulating/ irritating the bladder and have scope to try at lower doses ?

When I was on systemic HRT, I used neither as I didn’t need to.

Since my hysterectomy last year and HRT was stopped, symptoms have gradually worsened. So, I upped to 2 vagifem and two lots of cream.

I can try at lower doses, but not hopeful as skin feels very dry and thin.

I am experiencing exactly the same which is so unusual for me being symptom free for so long. I had the Covid vaccine two weeks ago and wonder if that's the reason or the fact my tube of Estriol might have degraded because of being in a new build house that seems to constantly have high room temperatures.

I've started a new tube of Estriol and have upped the dose, I haven't increased the dose of Vagifem yet, and hopefully it will help, but other than doing the usual non soap washing I honestly can't think what else to do. Such a wretched condition that's always lurking in the background ready to pounce.

Thanks Ayesha, you are not wrong, it is an awful condition.

I’ve been smearing cream right left and centre, but I can feel the discomfort from inside.

Thinking about it, the bathroom where I keep my cream, is fairly
warm when the heating is on. Perhaps this is affecting my cream quality too?

I shall endeavour to try to get it all under control during my week off work.

In the meantime, lets hope we both become more comfortable soon.

Awful.  Have U tried pain relief to ease symptoms?  I believe that Paracetamol may help.

Yes, I have been taking paracetemol regularly this week.
I know this is from lack of oestrogen. I have also explained this to my oncologist and she prescribed oxybutinin. This is meant to calm the bladder. Yet more drugs!  :-\

Is that a pill Nas or powder to mix with water?  Hopefully it will help symptoms.  :foryou:

It's really difficult to advise as it is such a bloody pernicious condition that really grinds you down.  I don't know how you have been coping at work. When my symptoms were bad I just had showers, no alcohol or spicy food and daily use of ovestin.  But you are using cream etc twice daily .  Surely in time this regime should calm things.  It took me almost a year to get on top of it when I came off systemic hrt .  I really hope you get some relief with all the pills and creams. Life really seems to keep knocking you back.  X

Check that your cream is the stronger one. I think with the Estriol it comes as 0.1 and 0.01. x

Would you be allowed to try the stronger formulation Nas? It might make all the difference?

I can't remember but isn't there a cream that numbs the area, I am sure someone mentioned this recently. Would give some relief in the short term.
If anyone knows what the product is that would be great.

Have just purchased a stronger cream from Boots. Fingers crossed it does something positive.  What a day! 🙈
