I can't believe that I have found answers to my questions I have been searching for, for 24years, on this forum and that I'm not the only one suffering with this awful morning anxiety and it's due to the lack of hormones after all. Woopee the penny has dropped Thank you all

Welcome VMS, I'm pretty sure you will find other things that you put down to old age or stress which are also hormone related.
Please feel free to share any knowledge/experience with us.

:welcomemm: from me.  Browse round. Make notes.

Let us know how old you are etc., some find that keeping a mood/food/symptom diary useful to chart progress.

Is there a specific symptom that you would like to ease?

Thankyou for your kind encouragements!
I am 70, although my body is, my brain thinks I'm loads younger. I had a hysterectomy at 45,HRT for 4years,then breast cancer followed(sorted👍 ) so no more HRT. WHAM, brain went off the rails big time, so ADs, then tried without 😱big mistake so back on. The worse thing is the excessive cortisol(I assume) giving morning anxiety and nausea, it does ease later on in the day and I'm 'me' again. Looking back, I was chucked in at the deep end from the start and have tried to cope with all this rubbish on my own. This is the first time I feel that someone does understand, phew, thank goodness👍

Hi! in my head I'm 16  body however reminds me that I'm nearly 71  :o  8).  Once out of bed and after breakfast body begins to catch up with the brain.

Cortisol was dreadful, I would wake in the early hours - around 3.00ish - absolutely terrified, I would get out of bed, get dressed and sit in the chair for hours, staring at 4 walls.  By evening I was a different person and had to not say 'yes' if asked to do anything i.e. pet sitting, because by morning anxiety would floor me  :'(

In 2002 my GP prescribed propranolol, 80mg 3 times a day initially, then 40mg twice a day followed by 20mg at night.  This certainly eased those early morning anxiety surges.

It is also important to eat regularly as when the body requires a burst of energy the brain may mis-interpret that as anxiety when it's adrenaline.  NAPS advised me to eat every 3 hours, 24/7.  I also have go to snacks: dried fruits and nuts, bananas, bread with peanut butter or Marmite .......

Yep the morning cortisol was awful for me, I could never figure out why on waking I had butterflies in my stomach, then it went from bad to worse but although HA is still an issue, everything else has calmed down somewhat

Hi Belle - it's early days in the way of a treatment regime as usually, the body doesn't get where it is suddenly.  Some find that keeping a mood/food/symptom diary of use.  Browse round.  Join in.
