I'm sure links have a mind of their own at times  :)

I read with interest and concluded that I am glad I have taken VitD for years and will continue to do so.
What did occur to me in the long conversation taking place, unless I missed it, there was no mention of taking K2 with VitD which is something that's always spoken off in the forum when the subject comes up. Again in conclusion, K2 is not essential to take alongside VitD otherwise we would be told to take it, surely!

I think it's good to take when you don't get the sun, especially in the winter months in the uk.  However, I never take in the summer and also not high doses.

I never go near the sun if I can help it, fair skinned, previous skin cancer, for me its a total cover up in the Summer. With my kind of lifestyle VitD is essential for me.

Re K2, I wonder if it's a bit like that maxim we need to drink two litres of water every day but no one actually knows where the idea originated? Isn't vitamin K in green vegetables so again if you eat a good diet then you don't need to supplement?

Re K2, .... Isn't vitamin K in green vegetables so again if you eat a good diet then you don't need to supplement?

I'm very very sceptical about supplements (unless you have a specific health condition that medically necessitates taking) and believe those of us fortunate to be able to eat a healthy, balanced diet shouldn't need to supplement. Vit D being the only exception, but even this gets pushed at very high levels which most people don't need (again, I appreciate there will be exceptions where higher levels are needed)

I'm pretty sure that the 'you need to take this to help with that' is pushed by the supplement companies themselves!
