It's interesting but I do think that sometimes when this happens, it's a sign that we really needed more estrogen. I mean - sometimes bleeding early or more frequently can be caused by low estrogen, rather than too much estrogen. (Just to confuse things

)
I have just experienced something similar. I have been trying to get my estrogen up into the 450-650pmol range to deal with debilitating night time symptoms and insomnia, on the advice of my Newson doctor.
I first tried increasing gel. On 6 pumps I was at 330pmol and my symptoms got a bit better - I then continued increasing up to 12 pumps, without any further improvement. Bloods showed I was still at about 330pmol on 12 pumps, so I wasn't absorbing any of the extra.
So then I reduced down to 6-8 pumps and added in Estradot patches and increased those. I'm now on 200mcg patches plus 6-8 pumps of gel. As soon as I started to increase the patches, two things happened together:
1. My sleep got A LOT better. (Last night was amazing. About 7 hours and really good quality restful sleep.)
2. My period hasn't come on day 23, like it has been for about a year now. It looks like I'm going to get all the way to day 26 inclusive before I stop the P this month. Previously I have had very very light spotting on day 21-22 and then more on day 23 when I'd then stop the P and allow a bleed.
So - increasing my estrogen has meant LESS bleeding and spotting. (I also don't have any high estrogen symptoms. No sore boobs etc.)
So - no, I wouldn't worry. In fact, the opposite, I'd be inclined to think it's a good sign that your body needed that increase.
