Surgical Menopause at 34 Weight Gain
« on: June 21, 2021, 07:16:18 PM »

Hi all,
 :'(
I am 34 and in surgical menopause. I have had 4 endo and adenomyosis surgeris in the last 2 years. I had a hysterectomy in July 2020 and then had my remaining ovary removed in March 2021 as the endo grew back quite quickly as it normally does. That surgery put me into surgical menopause and i have tried Evorel 50 and Evorel Conti since then.

I was also diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in Jan 2021. Over the last 3 years my body began to swell alot, this included endo belly, but my legs, arms, face and hands also swell. I have been vegan for 5 years, gluten free for 3 years, haven't consumed alcholol for 4 years or fizzy drinks. In the last six months i also started to follow a low fodmap diet. I also food prep my meals and weigh all of my carbs and protein. I used to train 6 days a week but can only do 4 now i deal with fibro. I still suffer from extreme chronic pain and some days can barely walk.

Since the ovary removal i have gained 10 pounds. I haven't been in the 9 stone range for over 5 years. My legs are swelling so much, especially in the thigh and knee area. I first tried Evorel 50, but then was given conti due to fear of endo being stimulated. That made my mood worse and gave me insomina even though i take amitryptlyne at night. I am now back on Evorel 50 and have gained 5 pound in two weeks.

I am still training in the gym and at home (i have a mini gym at home too) and i always eat clean with only one cheat meal a week. My Gnye says that the swelling is fibro related and the rheumatogist blames it on hormones. I don't even recognise myself anymore. The swelling has prevented me from even wearing jeans for 2 years but is at it's worst now i am in menopause.

Does it get easier? Is the swelling and weight gain only temporary? I always end the day in a calorie deficit because i know how to fuel my body based on macros. I just don't know what to do anymore. I feel heart broken and alone.x

Awh Hells3005 what a tough time you are having!

Do you have a menopause specialist? Hopefully they can help.

I have no knowledge to share I'm afraid but wanted to just wish you well xxxxx
