Transvaginal test results
« on: May 19, 2021, 11:15:13 AM »

Situated in the midline closely associated to/?arising from
the vaginal vault and indenting the bladder is a small well
circumscribed avascular mass measuring 21 x 15 x 17.8 mm.
The exact aetiology is uncertain.
Gynaecology referral is recommended for further evaluation.
.
Both ovaries appear within normal limits on today's
examination.
No obvious large adnexal masses or pelvic free fluid is
seen.

Does anyone know what this could mean? Dr rang today and wants further tests done,I asked if it meant cancer and she said it didn't have the characteristics of a tumour but it obviously doesn't mean to say it isn't,she said it could just be scarring from my vaginal hysterectomy done 13 years ago. Any thoughts anyone?

How soon will the appt. be offered, R U able to take a cancellation at short notice?

Best to get it looked at, 2 put your mind at rest.  'no obvious large masses' .........

I think if you were at risk the appt. would be ASAP .

Hi Jaypo - blimey it's all worrying isn't it?  ???

All I could find when I did a google was the following:
Avascular means: tissues that are devoid of any blood supply by arteries, veins, or capillaries.
Circumscribed means: confined to a limited area
Aetology means: the study of the causes of a disease

Now weather this is any help to you I don't know but it could be a cyst or possibly a fibroid. Do not worry about it being a 2 week referral - this will always happen if they see anything out of the ordinary & the % of it being anything sinister is very, very low.

I know it's going to worry you, I was the same in January but stay positive & try not to worry. It sounds like you're in good hands.

Love Cazi xxx

No worries Jaypo, just try & stay positive & get on with the every day stuff etc for the time being.

I get so wound up about stuff sometimes that I have to say to myself "look Cazikins, you can't do anything about this, you don't have control over this & you have to believe & trust in others"

It doesn't usually work though but it is my mantra..... ;D ;D

I've decided there's no point worrying about things until they happen. I was convinced I had breast cancer and got so wound up worrying about it. Turned out it was a cyst. More likely than not yours will be nothing to worry about, perhaps it would be more surprising if there wasn't any scar tissue after your op. The waiting is awful especially if you have too much time to think about it.
You could try meditating in the rain instead, pneumonia will take your mind off it! Hope it goes well, I'm sure it will.
