Dishonesty.

Just a general question to get other ladies points of view. Is it acceptable to tell a  "white lie" to ones partner in order to avoid conflict  :-\

I think it depends on what the white lie is about. It's difficult to always be totally honest in a relationship but some little white lies can lead on to bigger ones.

Agree Taz,a white lie like.........I absolutely love these new trousers I bought, don't you? Do you say no, I think they're horrid?hurt the persons feelings? Or do you say, yes, they're nice And make them feel good about themselves ?Those kind of white lies are semi acceptable but really depends on what you're talking about, I hate lies more than anything tbh

If the lie is going to cause distress, if discovered, it's best not said.

If it might cause amusement of just a little annoyance, no real harm done.

Often it depends on the intention behind the lie.  If you're doing  it for your own benefit,  then it's probably wrong, but if done for someone else's benefit/peace of mind/avoiding hurt feelings then maybe not.

If your scared of the conflict......yes, it’s acceptable.
Mostly, I hate lies, BUT, if you’ve not told the truth in order to protect yourself, it can’t be a good situation.
So white lie away. 🙂
We all tell white lies every now and then don’t we?
It’s the big whoppers I hate, and don’t do.
My face gives me away anyway, I can’t lie for toffee.

Why do you need to tell white lies? Is it to protect yourself or to protect someone else? I used to lie regularly as a child to my mum in order to protect myself from extreme reactions, whereas now I don’t have to lie. I have to remind myself, even many years later that I don’t have to! I suspect some people lie to make themselves look better usually only in their own eyes. Sometimes I don’t tell people what I really think about their clothes, for example, because I don’t want to offend them. Sometimes the truth can do more harm.

Yeah, important to bring into conscious awareness who is this for? The header of DIS-honesty (without honesty) might provide some soul-searched answers? Good luck! 😀
