Reducing HRT
« on: February 12, 2021, 01:03:13 PM »

Hi, it’s been a while since I posted as things were running along quite nicely.. I’ve had a chat with my doctor about reducing my hrt with a view to stopping altogether. I am post meno and was on kilofem but have now been prescribed kiolvance which I understand is a lower dose. Over the past few days I have had a bit of spotting, could this be because of changing hrt. I also have va which I use vagifem for. My legs and pelvic area also ache, I did put that down to me starting the couch to 5k program, having never run .... ever. Just wondering if this is all connected to changing hrt? Tia

Hi yes any change in HRT can result in bleeding , so it could be the lower dose is causing it. x

It can take up to 6 months but it's more likely to be 2 -3 months.
The ache in your legs & pelvic is more than likely to be your new exercise regime (well done on doing that).
Give it time to settle & hopefully things will settle down.
