The teachers will have time to get their shots as the government just announced today the schools will be closed and will go to remote learning for the near future. They did a complete 180 degrees as Sunday they sent a letter home to parents saying schools will be open after this week's break!  Someone didn't get the memo.. ???

So now there is the chance of temporary layoffs, as well as the possibility of opening an emergency child care centre but that opens a whole other can of worms.

Do you feel that your Government is in panic mode?

Panic mode...maybe.  The stay-at-home order they announced last week has been extended to at least May 20th. The cases numbers have been well over 4000 per day for the last 2 weeks. All the schools have been closed indefinitely, (I was laid off again, back on Employment Insurance), non-essential stores are curb-side pick up or delivery, no restaurants are open except for take-out and Friday they announced they would be closing all outdoor playgrounds, tennis courts, etc. plus give the police the power to pull over motorists and stop pedestrians and ask them where they are going and where they live.  Well...I don't have to tell you about the public outcry and that over 30 police departments in the province said they would not follow the new protocol!  The next day the premier back peddled and said the playgrounds and such would not be closed and police no longer had the power to investigate those out and about (outdoor exercise is all we can do now) but will only do so if the situation is an obvious illegal public gathering.  Talk about a sh*t show. >:(

On a happier note, dh got his shot Friday (Moderna) and I'm going this coming Friday :)

His arm was pretty sore yesterday, had to ice it and take Advil every 6 hours. He was pretty tired too and generally feeling unwell.  He's feeling better today.

Yup, I live in the province of Ontario, Canada. Our vaccine rollout situation has been less than stellar, compared to other countries.  The situation I mentioned above is happening in Ontario, the other provinces are dealing with their own.

It was announced yesterday that, as of tomorrow the AZ vaccine is going to be made available to those 40+, as there seems to be many batches that are still in freezer storage that will be expiring soon so they need to get them into arms as soon as possible.

You have no idea...the government doesn't know how to listen to good advice from people that know what they're talking about.  That has lead to chaos and mistrust of how this all has been handled.

Still in lockdown, there is talk of an extension past the 20th.  Good news is that thousands of people are getting there shots and the numbers are slowly trending in the right direction.  The Victoria Day long weekend is coming up in a couple of weeks so were waiting on whether some restrictions will be eased in time for that.
