It's Thursday Theresa as OH couldn't take me tomorrow and I don't want to drive myself.

Thank you for the good wishes.

Suffice to say I didn't sleep last night, just tossed and turned. OH is feeling guilty that he couldn't take me today, and I just really don't want to know. I can't decide if I want OH to come in with me or not. Actually I'd like him to go in and get the results without me! I know I'm being silly, and people cope with far worse, but I'm not a strong person and I am terrified of hospitals.

You have had too much time to think about this.  He probably won't be able to be in the Clinic anyway, unless the hospital is C-19 free.  Long bath later and a nice cuppa ?

Have U been told that you need to be alone?  That in my opinion is at this stage of C-19 inhumane.  I would ask my GP 2 ring the Dept. to make sure that you will be met by an appropriate Nurse - Hospitals are after all public places, paid for by Taxes.

If you attend a hospital appointment or visit A&E at the moment you are not allowed anyone with you unless you need a carer. If you go in for an op you are also not allowed anyone with you or any visitors. This is to cut down the covid transmission risks. You are met by a member of the department you are visiting.

Very true. I had my knee op in September and i was on my own, it was in a private hospital,  but still no one was allowed to be with me & I had my own room & bathroom facilities.  My hubby was with me on the previous 2 ops.
Good luck for Thursday  :bighug: as said, you will be ok

A relative has undergone emergency heart surgery tonight and has to be alone other than Staff ........ no visitors allowed even though the relatives have had negative C-19 tests.

Thank you everyone for the good wishes. I just keep thinking that by this time tomorrow I'll know.

I've told OH he shouldn't feel bad. It's hard for anyone to be able to drop everything to make an appointment the next day, and I'm guessing that I'll have more notice for any future appointments. As it is we've both had to move a number of things to be able to make the appointment I now have.
