HI. I'm new to the Forum and wondered if anyone could give me more info on the taking of HRT?
My periods stopped about 3 years ago. Last September I started HRT (die to anxiety, hot flushes, insomnia, going mad!) At first I was on tablets because there was a shortage and it was cyclical oestrogen and then oestrogen / progesterone . . .which meant I bled every month.
Then I went on Evorel Conti - combined and no bleeding.
I've recently increased dose of oestrogen because some of symptoms came back. I started Evorel 75 plus 5mg Provera per day. For a month or so. Then a month ago the GP recommended I could just take Provera 10mg for 2 weeks out of every 3 months (as that's all that's needed to protect the womb . . )
BUT a friend of mine started a similar regime before me and now, during her progesterone fortnight is having the heaviest most painful bleeding!
I don't want that. Is this normal with this regime, Should I go back to taking daily Provera and can I start back now?
