Well as far as I can tell it is a top tooth that's causing the problem / pain, so that's positive although I'd be inclined to get them all removed at once if there's a chance of problems in the future. It appears that the one I had removed actually grew back!! I've only seen the hygienest so far but she looked at the x-rays and said all of my wisdom teeth are in odd positions and at least one has partially broken through, so that doesn't sound good.

I have yet to meet the dentist as my old one left

I had a top one removed not too long ago, came out really quickly. Was not a problem. Big thing to remember is not to rinse for at least 24 hours as you do not want to dislodge the blood clot. Gentle rinsing the next day with warm saltwater. You can also bite on a used teabag it helps for the bleeding, according to my dentist. Really not anything to stress about, its quicker and easier than a filling.
