faulty Vagifem applicators
« on: July 09, 2020, 03:44:46 PM »

I got my new prescription this week, both different batch numbers and four so far have not clicked when using them. I don't normally get residue but i do now and my already sore bits are getting more stingy. I contacted chemist who weren't very helpful and told me to ring manufacturer, i did and have reported it and they are sending me a pre paid envelope to send them to them. I have also now got to get my GP to agree to more as chemist do not seem to want to give me a replacement.

Has anyone else ever had this problem, i have used Vagifem for over 4 years now.

Hi Tinkerbell.  I had only 1 that did jam but I know the generic of vagifem has caused all sorts of issues.  Is it Vagifem or Juvafem?

Didn't know there was a generic, it is Vagifem, but the applicator has a slighty different texture plastic too.

Hummm...maybe try contacting the manufacturer to see if they may have changed the applicator?  Hurdity might be able to help.  Hopefully she will see your post.

Hmm. I don't think we have the generic Yuvafem in the UK. Let us know how you get on Tinkerbell. Are you on Jane's vaginal atrophy Facebook group? It would be interesting to know if anyone there has got a "different" Vagifem.

I thought that 'vagifem' was like a tampon and pushed inside  :-\

'ovestin' have applicators and so far, no problems

No Vagifem has a long blue applicator.

Yes with a tiny white pellet, you insert it then push the end ,that clicks and fires it out, except my dodgy batch isn't clicking and the residue is falling out :(

You need to decant the pellet into a pea shooter ;-).

Is it possible to remove from the applicator and insert directly?  On the end of a tampon if necessary?

I agree, years ago the Yellow Card scheme was in place but I was never told about it.
