prolonged periods
« on: July 13, 2020, 01:32:14 PM »

hi everyone
My periods stopped 6 months ago, but on the 1st July they started again. Its 13 days later and I'm still bleeding quite heavily. Anyone else experienced this? I'm not having any pain with it, other than having tender breasts

I actually stopped on day 15 but 6 days later I started again. This time it was a normal 4 to 5 days.

I had this on and off for a couple of years.  It was only when I noticed other symptoms that I asked for HRT.  Everyone's different, but I decided to go for it and for me I now have a regular monthly period again, about 4 days in duration each time.  I'm not saying it's for everyone, just giving my experience.  I was worried about the bleeding but the doctor said it was normal for my age.  He suggested seeing a lady doctor who specialised in menopausal issues but he also said I probably wasn't in menopause yet.  So I didn't realise and waited 2 years before going.  I feel a lot better on HRT, but I am using a patch, not a tablet.

Thank you for your reply. I'll definitely book a gp appointment if it gets worse
