That's great. We have 4/5 kites circling, I think it's a newly fledged batch with the parents  :-* - hopefully they won't come down for our frogs  :o

Reminds me of a joke  ;D

Our silly blackbirds are hopping around for meal worms.  I put some the side of the garden where they are, they fly to the other side  >:(.  I think they are in the pay of the starlings  :D

We've had a humming bird moth  :-* around the new pots of carnations I put out on Wed..

A little baby bird flew into our patio windows 😢🥺 then sat clinging onto our table but then fell omg I was beside myself,we popped it into a box and put it in spare room, about 20 mins later we heard it pecking at box,so we took it outside and it flew way up into the trees, happy girl now, must get something to deter them

oh that's a shame jaypo, glad she has rallied round and flown away with her birdy pals.
I know this thread is about birds and nature but I have run into a patio door before (thought it was open and running in with washing, it was pouring) smack hit my face on the glass, i'm sure I saw stars. OH thought it was hilarious as he said the look of shock on my face as to how it happened was a picture. I never did it again.

It's funny how we laugh if it's a human that does it (as long as not hurt🤕)but if it's a bird,I'm about crying

Which is why doors have to have toughened glass ;-)

We've come indoors.  Too hot outside. Been feeding wild birds with meal worms, put fresh water out and they are queuing up to drink and wash.

Were they dried meal-worms?  Maybe soak them or lay them on a bowl of cool water - the starlings will peck them out ;-).

I have loads of starlings but that's because I feed them breakfast and tea  ;D
They have wholemeal breadcrumbs, crumbled digestive biscuits, grated mild cheese and soaked, chopped sultanas together with any food scraps, leftover cat food etc. They're so noisy though when up to 30 descend into the garden at 5 in the morning!!
