Caught a glimpse of a bird eyeing up the nest box  :parti: then my dog ran out barking at someone who had dared to make a noise ::)

My robin was singing at me whilst I stood at the lounge window  ;D so I put live meal worms out.  Within seconds he had flown to another robin and fed her a worm: he then collected 3/4 more, put them down and picked up a single worm for her: she flew off with the 4th herself  ;D

Ongoing battle with the @#=%+& crows, they have now figured out how to land between plastic spikes on the fence and reach the feeders, even OH is now peed off at them,so out we go and have stapled some wooden skewers between the plastic spikes,I'm watching them trying to figure out how to overcome this hurdle and they no doubt will

THEY'VE DONE IT AGAIN  >:(  so NOW we've bought one of those tree protectors and going to encase the bird feeder with it,the gaps are small enough for the tits and wrens etc but the crows won't get through ,ha,watch this space  ;D

I wonder how long you would take to report the next stage of their antics  ;D

I used an old hanging basket over the entrance to the live meal worm feeder to stop the starlings.  Wren, robin and tits can get in and out, it frustrates the starlings who sit around, waiting to mob  >:( the smaller birds.  That doesn't often work!

Lovely sunset this evening  :-*

A PAIR of Kingfishers spotted yesterday on a Mothers' Day stroll in the Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh. Breathtaking! What a gift!

OH! did U hear them first, they 'pip' as they fly.  Fast.  A flash of blue and turquoise  :-*  8)

Having found our blackbird earlier, we can now see the parents are feeding young  :o  :-*.  I wonder how that nest survived in last week's gales  :o

Yes. It was brilliant sunshine, so the colours were stunning. They were taking it in turns to go into the nest so got a good long look at the one on watch.
