She said the "rather beautiful" hog, which does not have a name as staff never name wild animals, was classed as "blonde rather than albino" as it has "dark not red" eyes.

"Blonde hedgehogs are about but you don't see them often," she said.

"At the moment it's eating fine and looks great but it is still early days."

Despite its unusual colour, Mrs Korkis said it should not be more of a target to predators when it is released.

"Hopefully this one will make it through to spring, and will be released back to where it came from," she said.

Had to move the bird feeders as crows are ALL over the fence and guzzling all the food,so now it's by the thin branches of the trees,so far it's worked but I can see said crows watching and trying to figure out how to solve the problem, they're clever,I'll give them that, least all the little birds are happy now

I have a new feeder - a metal contained with a lid and a lip.  Put the meal worms in t he back and some crawl through - robin is sitting on the lip stopping the tits getting some!

I've put mealworms along the fence ledge for Mr Robin  :)

Dried or live?  They wriggle into the earth ......... which means Mr Blackbird will dig furiously into where bulbs are planted  ::)

The metal framed meal worm feeder is working well, even the wren pops in and out  :-*  8).  The blue tits queue up, there seems to be a hierarchy.

My husband has just ordered some bird seed from the farm below.  Google for their website.

Vine House Farm

They donate 10% of the first order value to the Wildlife Trust, and 4% of subsequent orders.

Worth a look.

I've been in touch with Nicholas for several years, his interesting e-mails are worth joining up to.  I met him at Bird Fair on many occasions.  The Farm has been heavily into conservation with many records about the birds on his land.

We have had a young fox, walking up and down the road in broad daylight to day.

Interesting but very unusual.

Looking 4 your birds?

I used to see them basking in the sun when I walked my  :scottie:.  It's the time when vixens begin looking for a mate ;-)
