Starlings got into a feed shed years ago when i was younger and there were masses of them in our apple orchard. Quite spectacular but also frightening with all the noise and numbers.

Well we had a rare sighting! Unfortunately not me - but my husband and son's gf - I was out! They saw a Waxwing in neighbours garden which hung around for quite a while and was flitting between there and our wild patch of grassland behind! There hadn't been one recorded this far south for some time (maybe not this season). I was most put out as have never seen one!!

Hopefully it will be back. We have them in the supermarket carpark here but haven't seen any this Winter.

There were several sighted in Norfolk last week but can't remember where  ::).

Got it:  Binocular and camera wielding crowds have been staking out Long Stratton police station to catch sight of a group of waxwings.

Will send you some Red Kites as I don't even notice them anymore there are so many. Magnificent to watch but they have driven out the buzzards which I really like.

Do you feed the kites jaypo?

They must be hungry to try to take live prey. Ours are far too lazy for that   ;D

Our crows are ok with then but the rooms and jackdaws aren't so happy!

They can ruin fruit trees which is probably why they are both so pretty so that we don't shoo them away ?   ::)

Here we have kites and buzzards ......
