Thirteen areas in London are no longer receiving regular Royal Mail deliveries due to its workforce being affected by Covid-19, the company has said.

The firm published a list of areas affected which include Lewisham, Wandsworth, Highbury and Enfield.

Some residents say they have not received any post for more than a month.

Captain Sir Tom Moore has been admitted to hospital with coronavirus, his daughter has said.

The 100-year-old, who raised almost £33m for the NHS, was taken to Bedford Hospital after requiring help with his breathing, Hannah Ingram-Moore said on Twitter.

She said he had been treated for pneumonia over the past few weeks and last week tested positive for Covid-19.

I thought he had it before? Didn't it all start because he wanted to do something for the hospital he was treated in?

Hello ladies.

A journalist on the BBC news last night reported on Captain Tom's illness and said that the Captain's daughter had tweeted about the lovely Christmas the family had enjoyed in Barbados.  Incredible if true I think you will agree ladies.

Take care ladies.

There was a lot of comments about this on Twitter at the time. I think that if I was 100 and had the chance of a holiday in Barbados, all within the covid rules at that time of course, then I'd be tempted to go too. I think it's his optimistic personality that's got him this far. Not sure where he caught the virus? The holiday was weeks ago now.

At 100 years old I think he's earned the right to be 'stupid'.  He's on borrowed time anyway.

I hope he had a wonderful time.

The biggest issue is WHO did he catch it from?  This needs to be discovered because it adds to the research ....... grand children in /out of school?  Care workers whilst he had treatment at home for pneumonia?  There's a huge gap in knowledge regarding transmission.

I did hear him saying that he had been invited to Barbados but got the impression then that it would only happen if travel restrictions were relaxed.

There's lots online if you Google it. I thought only the flights were free but might be wrong. I'm sure he had a great time.

There was no restriction on travel in Nov./Dec., flights were free by the airline.
