Hello ladies.

French doctors have discovered COVID19  in the autopsies of people who died from pneumonia in November last year. This proves that the virus was active in Europe at the end of last year.

I believe that Kawasaki disease can also be brought on by other viruses. There is an illness common in young children known as 'Slapped cheek' because is causes a rash on the cheek. There are no other symptoms and the  child usually makes a full recovery.

I think we are all waiting with bated breath to see if the changes to lockdown lead to another surge in cases. Let's hope not but only time will tell.

Wishing everyone well.

Six firefighters at one station in Glasgow have tested positive for coronavirus.

Staff were tested after an outbreak at Springburn Community Fire Station in the north of the city.

The base has now been deep-cleaned and the staff involved are in self-isolation.

Another resident at a Skye care home at the centre of a coronavirus outbreak has died - bringing the total number of fatalities at the facility to nine.

A total of 49 residents and staff have tested positive at Home Farm care home in Portree.

The Care Inspectorate has raised "serious and significant concerns" about the facility following an unannounced visit on Tuesday.

It prompted NHS Highland to intervene, and it is now effectively running Home Farm.

The Care Inspectorate is also taking court action in an attempt to cancel HC One's registration to run the facility.

where were the Care Inspectorate prior to C-19?  A bit like the CQC - pop up when they think they ought to?  Still waiting for the 1 that looked at the place where Mum stays to realise that the Facebook page isn't private  :-\ which is what they were 'told' but it seems they never check the info given to them.

But who took it 'in'  >:(.      Same as earlier, a Manager of a Care Home was telling a reporter that a hospital had discharged a resident back to her care, without filling in the Discharge letter.  It was known in the Hospital that this resident had tested positive for Covid.   :'( But without being aware, the Staff didn't know to take physical barrier care  >:(.  Heads SHOULD ROLL.  3 days later the resident died.

Who can be tested:
Our priority is testing patients to inform their clinical diagnosis.

You can apply to get a test if you?re in one of the following groups:

all essential workers including NHS and social care workers with symptoms (see the full list of essential workers)

people over 65 with symptoms

people with symptoms going to work who cannot work from home (for example, construction workers, shop workers, emergency plumbers and delivery drivers)

anyone who has symptoms of coronavirus and lives with any of those identified above

Additionally, we are testing:

social care workers and residents in care homes, with or without symptoms, both to investigate outbreaks and, following successful pilots, as part of a rolling programme to test all care homes (see the guidance for care home residents and workers in England)
NHS workers and patients without symptoms, in line with NHS England guidance

so much for stay at home, save the NHS - what about those in the queue to be tested if others have symptoms  :-\

Cedar Primary School in Northampton, which had partly reopened on Monday, closed on Wednesday after two support staff tested positive for the virus.

Two unions reported the David Ross Education Trust (DRET) over concerns with its Covid reporting procedure.

DRET has been approached for comment.

Unison and the GMB's complaint against the trust, which was founded by Carphone Warehouse boss David Ross, came before the Cedar Primary outbreak was known.

All of its 25 staff have now been tested for Covid-19.

No new deaths to coronavirus have been registered in Scotland in the past 24 hours for the first time since the early days of the pandemic.

Health Secretary Jeane Freeman cautioned that fewer deaths were recorded at weekends, and warned further deaths were "still likely".

Latest Scottish government figures show 15,621 people have tested positive for Covid-19.

Years One, Six and Reception classes returned to the classroom on Monday 1 June.

Since then two school staff have been confirmed positive, while two results have come back negative and eight are still waiting, according to Lincolnshire County Council.

The affected schools are in Lincoln, Boston, Gainsborough and Grantham.

Two Lincoln schools have already confirmed cases, with one closing completely and the other sending a "bubble" of classmates and teachers home.

On Friday, Bishop King Church of England primary school closed after a member of staff tested positive for coronavirus.

A school in The New Forest has been closed after a pupil tested positive for Covid-19.

Pennington Infant School said staff were made aware that a child had the virus over the weekend.

Deputy head teacher Amy Wake said the "difficult decision" to close was based on "precautionary advice".

The affected pupil is in isolation with their immediate family. Staff and pupils within the child's "bubble" have been told to self-isolate

Seemed a good idea by the UK government - to get everyone back to work by making kids return to school?
