Don't want to lose muscle mass...
« on: March 11, 2020, 11:00:51 AM »

You guys already know I'm a stress merchant about this whole thing.

One of the things that scares me is losing muscle mass and getting fat.

So I have scales that tell me my muscle mass, percentage of fat, water content, BMR...

Happy to report that I've lost a bit of weight, and also lost 500 grms of fat and gained 500 grms muscle just upping my routine ever so slightly. I've just been running slightly further than normal and doing light weights at the gym a little more regularly.

Gonna carry on like this. It's not too much extra effort.

And it's making a big difference to my state of mind too.

That's great Focus!. I do 7 minute HIIT's at home and they certainly improve my mood.

Didn't I suggest stretching exercises ......... starting from the toes: tense, count to 5, relax.  Work up all the muscles groups to the chest level. Can be done in bed, in the shopping queue, in the bath ....... my problem is remembering!

My core feels really weak this week  :-\ I can't explain it in any other way.  I can't stand up straight so am walking bent over.  My belly area aches.  My back aches.  My quads feel weak.

Swimming is good but I simply can't be bothered.

Yes, they're progressive muscle relaxation. I sometimes do those last thing at night, in bed. I usually don't get much higher up than my chest.

I never have trouble falling asleep. It's usually waking up after 2 or 4 hours and not being able to get back to sleep that's my problem.

Yes, exercise is turning into my lifeline through this...

Hello Focus

Well done on achieving your improvements.

Your story demonstrates that if applied consistently even small changes can have a big impact.

So if you are unable to go back to sleep, do those exercises ;-)

Actually I gain a bit weight and increase my muscle mass with harder training. Muscle loss isn't inevitable due meno...I am in greater shape than 5 years ago!:)
