Omega 3, B6 and hot flushes
« on: December 10, 2019, 04:26:27 PM »

Hi

I've just read this study re Omega 3 and Vit B6 reducing hot flushes. It's a bit heavy but the conclusion / abstract give an overview

https://d2931px9t312xa.cloudfront.net/menopausedoctor/files/information/400/Severity%20of%20hot%20flushes%20is%20inversely%20associated%20with%20dietary%20intake%20of%20vitamin%20B6%20and%20oily%20fish.pdf

It could be unrelated but I have fish 3x a week, take an Omega 3 and B Vit supplement and don't hot flush.

It might be worth considering if you are unable to take hrt x

Obviously I'm on hrt now but didn't have hot flushes prior to that or night sweats.

Hello ladies.

I eat whole food plant based so I have ground flaxseeds for my omega 3 plus I take a supplement made from algae (it's where the fish get their omega 3 from). I do all this because plant foods have an  ant inflammatory effect as does oestrogen so  perhaps that is the connection? My flushes were never too bad but of course I've had other problems to battle with courtesy of the wonderful world of the menopause lol.

Take care ladies.
