Hello!
« on: July 03, 2019, 02:24:31 PM »

I just wanted to say hello before I start asking random questions :)
I've just started on HRT and although classed as in perimenopause I seem to have every symptom going and am in need of advice🙄

Thanks for the welcome😊
Mood swings, no energy , horrible periods , not feeling like me anymore, zero sex drive or ability to enjoy it which is extremely distressing for me, hot flushes, bloating, sore boobs I could go on... I'm kinda hoping for a miracle with my HRT tbh😐 but being realistic I think it's going to take a while....all this and in my head I'm still far too young ( I've just turned 46) but symptoms started 2/3 years ago.

Hey 7dwarfs. Welcome to the 46 club !!
In my head I'm still 26. My body ... well 76, at a push. Sense of humour of a 12 year old boy !!
If you can laugh at this sh*t, even if it's through tears. Then you'll fit in here.

If I didn't have a sense of humour I think I may have completely lost the plot already... I did nearly loose the cat biscuits yesterday trying to put them in the fridge 🤣

Ah yes. The 'mis-filing' of things. If in doubt ...
Your glasses are either on your head or in your other hand
The washing up liquid is in the freezer and so is the cling film
You left your handbag in the car
The car keys are in the bathroom cabinet
And the cat isn't lost, he's just moved in with the neighbours  ;D

You must look at our thread in the funny side of menopause, there's a strange woman in my house, the things some of us have done beggers belief but as the years roll on,we have to try and laugh at ourselves, albeit very hard some days, I mean we laugh at pants's name every day😆

I think you summed it up in 2 posts Pants...

Don't hope for a miracle from your hrt 7dwarfs, it just doesn't work like that.  Stick with and you will get there eventually is probably a better approach  - I hope you are one of the ladies for whom it works real quick but they are few and far between...whatever way it goes....keep posting and joining in with our "distraught, quirky, mental, hysterical, downright daft and sometimes fleetingly happy" band and all I can say is you may feel "s**t" but you wont be alone!! :)

Thanks ladies... at least I know I'm not alone and trust me I've felt it lately but I guess that's all part of the whole thing . One thing I have decided is that I'm going to try being more honest and open with my husband. We've only been married 3 years and I've been so busy trying to pretend everything's ok I think I've made matters worse. Holding stuff in is my biggest fault and I know I'm not going to get through this without admitting that actually I'm not always the bubbly easy going, fun , self confident positive person he married! He's a good man but not a mind reader lol!

honesty with husbands is a good thing...it's impossible to hide this stuff away 7dwarfs - he'll think he's married a closet schizophrenic  ;D (which would probably be easier to deal with, if my own mood swings and behaviour were anything to go by!!)

Out in the open - he will probably surprise you xx
