Hi, I'm new here!
« on: July 06, 2019, 05:16:30 AM »

Hi everyone,
I just stumbled across this site and thought it may be useful.
I'm 42 and suspect I'm in the midst of the beginning of the menapause!
Main issue for me is that I am red hot all of the time, 24 hours a day......it's exhausting

Hi jomcc77, welcome! Read up (especially on this forum/website) as much as you can about the various options. I think for most women it requires more than one specific thing to improve symptoms and what's the answer for one is not necessarily the answer for another. Im 41yr, had symptoms for 3 yrs, long story but after alot of frustration, various tests, trials of different meds (unrelated to menopause) and different specialists I have now been told I am perimenopausal. I wish I had done more research, discovered menopause matters 3 years ago when I first went to the GP thinking it was the menopause. I would have been much better armed to have fought my corner & not ended up on a wasted/anxious journey & then back to square one again. It was insomnia, flushes & sweats that I started to find unbareable & initially went to GP with. I am overweight (I've lost 2 stone since Jan) but since reading about how much diet, exercise & weight loss can help with symptoms I felt/feel motivated to help myself (also on HRT & take some supplements). It might be worth keeping a symptom diary (rockmymenopause website has a good one) so you can show the doctor the frequency & if there is a pattern to your symptoms. Also you may have symptoms that you aren't aware are menopause related. All the best. x

Do read round.  Make notes.  Go to your Surgery and ask which GP is knowledgeable about menopause.  Take a list of your symptoms and see that GP.  Let us know how you get on.

You probably need HRT to protect heart and bones.  Good diet, keep hydrated.  Exercise.
