Allergy to Evorel conti
« on: April 08, 2019, 12:15:47 PM »

Hi ladies,
Last week I posted about me feeling like my HRT not working as it used to. Well I changed from kliofem 2mg tablet to Evorel conti patches. 2 days after first patch applied I came out in a rash, but I decided to keep going in the hope it stops. Last night I couldn't sleep for the itch and the rash has spread to my face, so this morning I called the pharmacist to ask about taking antihistamine but she said to call the doctor. He says I'm allergic and to stop using immediately. So he told me to return to kliofem as before and make an appointment to discuss. I asked if he could refer me to a menopause specialist and he didn't know anything about this, says it's not a route docs would normally take. I explained about Dr Heather Currie and this website, but still no uptake on looking into this. I just want to speak to someone who has knowledge on the menopause and the different types of HRT that are available and suitable for each individual woman. He said to make an appointment with the specialist nurse and I could discuss my HRT with her...
Why is there no support out there, THANK GOD for this forum!!
Sorry rant over, just so disappointed with doctors lack of knowledge and take anti depressant route..
Oh and has any ladies on this forum had the same effect with Evorel conti? :-\
Thanks

Commiserations. I had to make a private appointment with a GP who specialises in menopause in the end. I found her on a list on Louise Newson's website
