Hi
Thanks for your responses... I'm 53 have always suffered from PMT and was hoping for an easier journey through menopause, since I've battled hormones for years. No, it's just got a whole lot harder. I was on Elleste Duet tablets, GP also tried me the Conti; but I was continuously having small bleeds on those, so was given Evoel Sequi patches. ( so I've been having some form of HRT for over two years) I thought their effect was lessening and was looking to change, but the GP thought it better to refer to a menopausal clinic. Waste of time, Gynae Dr was more focused on the physical. I know my problems are more phycological. So to cut a long story short I'm back at square one. GP supposed to be prescribing another patch. She prescribed the same discontinued one as the Gynae, FemSeven AArrrrgh..... Given Evoel Sequi instead. The ones I was on before. Why is it so hard to get help or people to actually listen to you... Feel like I'm speaking a different language. My moods, confidence and general well-being are in a constant state of flux, never sure how I'm going to feel from one day to the next. I know exercise, having a good diet and not being overweight is what I should be concentrating on. However, I just can't find the motivation to exercise and all I want to do is stuff my face with the wrong foods. ( I have never done that before). Didn't go to the yoga, I just couldn't be bothered. Slapped a patch on today as I'm not waiting to till I can see the doctor again before getting another prescription. Hopefully, that will give me my mojo back after being off the patches since Nov '18.. Oh and Hurdity I was on AD's because of PMT and have been on and off them for some time, the Gynae took me off the HRT as she said it would give her a clearer physical picture... That set off alarms bells as to her effectiveness.!!!

Hi Ally
from me too.
Why on earth did the doctor stop your HRT rather than your ADs - if anything needed to be stopped! If you have been on ADs for other reasons than menopause then that's fine but if you were given them for menopausal symptoms then the doc should have continued with the HRT in preference, according to NICE Guidelines. That is just so awful for you - to have been referred for specialist care by your GP due to lack of knowledge and then for this to happen. Was there any reason given for stopping the HRT? It would help if you said how old you are and what HRT you were on, and for how long? Can you now go back to your GP and say you would like to go back on it - provided the spcailists has not given a medical reason why you should not? Please do not suffer!
Hurdity x
