Agatha, she was still dizzy last night and v grumpy as she's stuck at home.
I got some travel sickness tablets from the pharmacy, which she says are helping a bit.
I'm going to try and get her to come down stairs and at least sit and watch TV and maybe move around a bit more.

Like any illness it takes it's time. What's her job?  Maybe not to sit in front of a screen much until the sensations pass.

Thanks CLKD. Yes it will take time. She works in an office so uses a screen but she's having no problem looking at her phone and tablet.

Thanks everyone. You are all great trying to reassure me x

;D ...... she's improving then.  Maybe suggest that if she puts them down she will recover quicker ?  ;)

Hi Blot,
Both myself and my daughter have suffered with labyrinthitis and it can be quite frightening, we were prescribed anti sickness pills (mine was so bad that i had to have injections) and antihistamines. Check out the nhs website but also check out Vestibular rehabilitation therapy (VRT). Your daughter can do this herself with some support from you, it helps to reset your balance.

Hope this helps & i know what you are going through with the anxiety. My daughter is 32 and I still worry about her.
Its what us mums do  :)

Hope your daughter feels better soon.

Hi blot, remember it should be stugeron travel sick tablets and she must take 2 three times a day, they will definitely help if she takes them for a week or so

Thank you all. I think she is slightly better, at least in better spirits.

I got the sturgeon tablets Jaypo so she is taking them now. Woman in the pharmacy was pretty clueless mind.

I'm OK AgathaC. Thank you.

Grr,they shouldn’t be,I used to be a pharmacy dispenser & the shop assistants should know,if they don’t,they should go and ask a dispenser or pharmacist, just read the leaflet though and make sure she’s not on any conflicting medication.
Hope she feels better soon

The Pharmacist should have asked if there are any other meds being taken, agree jaypo!!

I had a bad attack of Labyrinthitis many years ago. It took a long time to go and I have had recurrences over the years. I was once told that it is caused by a viral infection in the inner ear that can ‘lurk’ there and flare up when you are run down ie. immune system compromised. I was advised recently by my GP to use Stugeron if I felt it coming on. I also used to suffer from migraines and there is something called ‘ vestibular migraine’ which is very similar to labyrinthitis but much more short lived.

I think gps just kinda guess as to what it is,it’s usually labyrinthitis or like me,meniers syndrome,if the fluid in your inner ear gets debris in it,it causes dizziness, the fluid can then go in the wrong direction,it’s the only time I had to take time off my work,it really is awful isn’t it,stemitil helps at a higher dose but stugeron is great and you can get it quickly when you need it.
