3g Femoston ?
« on: December 04, 2018, 06:46:44 PM »

Hi , i have been on HRT for 18 months and i am wondering if any one is taking the same HRT as me. After i tried 3 pumps of oestrogel and Utrogestan for 8 months, all flushes, night sweats, low mood disappeared but i noticed i was itching too much on it so my doctor (she runs a Menopause clinic in my area) decided to put me on Femoston 2mg + Femoston 1mg so that's 2 pills per day. I tried Femoston 2mg first but my symptoms were coming back as if it was not enough (3 pumps of oestrogel was giving me more than 2mg femoston so it made sense). I have already asked on another site if anyone is taking 2 pills a day like me, but no one has this experience, i am slightly worried about the amount of each oestrogen and progesterone i am taking. I did raise my concern to my doctor, she just said she gives the 2 pills regularly to ladies who 'need it' when they feel it is not enough even though it is not licenced, what do you think ? Also patches make me itch. Thanks for your replies.

 :welcomemm:

As oestrogen levels drop, the body may become dry, in side and out.  Deep in the ears, nostrils, vagina, skin ........

I'm sure someone will be along with more advice.

I am on Femoston 2/10 and my gyn said that if my symptoms persist I will try to upper my dose.
I feel fine on my dose but I think that taking 3mg isn't something unusual or dangerous. At young ages higher doses are recommended. Hope it helps! :)

Hi there  I am on Femoston conti   but as they no longer do a 2/10 I take 1/10 x2 so in a similar situation. This was prescibed by my private meno specialist so dont think what you are being prescribed is too much.

Yes that would be my only comment - you are getting a lot of progestogen if you take Femoston 2/10 and 1/10 together since the amount of prog in the two preparations is the same. If you feel OK on this for 12 days per month then it should be OK? At least your endometrium will be well protected!
