Estrogel and endometrial lining
« on: August 22, 2018, 03:57:45 PM »

So assuming my natural cycle is over (which I think it is),  I thought that taking estrogel would thicken my endometrial lining and that is why we need to take progesterone regularly to make it shed.  So to cut a long story short I took estrogel for 2 months and then a full 12 days 200g utrogestan and had no period.  I then had a scan of my lining and it was just 5mm (the same as 2 months previously). So what is going on?  Does this mean that the estrogel is not being absorbed or is just not enough to generate a lining or what?  I am very confused.

You may just be lucky and your womb lining isn't building up too much. In time it may.  DG x

So the lining thickening is a bit random?

Not random exactly but I do think we all respond differently to hormones and some women's uterus lining will build up quicker than others.
Once you've been in hrt for 3-6 months you may find you get a proper bleed but some women barely bleed at all on a sequi hrt - it's a lottery.

Thank you for the reply, it all makes a lot more sense now.
