Does anyone keep their potatoes in the fridge? In this weather they are going off very quickly. Someone told me they keep theirs in the fridge.

You'd be better buying a potato bag from Lakeland or amazon they store quite well in them.I don't like them out the fridge they tend to be watery dependin* on which type of potato you use I suppose.if you look in the stores they are never refrigerated so I'd tend to go with that.good luck x

When the weather is warm I don't buy many potatoes but I do buy new potatoes, and yes I keep them in the fridge drawer, I think they keep longer and I haven't noticed any difference in them after they've been cooked.

I only put new potatoes in the fridge. All others a cool dark cupboard. They don't last as long at this time of year

I buy Cyprus potatoes as we prefer them they're great for chips or boilers or roasters and I can't put them in the fridge ,they go in a dark hessian potato bag with the soil attached to them but even then depending on heat in house it's hard to keep them fresh.

I might put one in the fridge as a test. Lol
I'll get a bag. Bread goes off really quickly too.

Hi littleminnie.
Yeah I always keep my potatoes in the fridge no matter what the weather.
I haven't had a problem with them ever.
Also, when it's really hot I keep my bread in there too, if I can fit it in.
No problem there either.

Nope. In a dark bag that breathes. In the cool. Over Winter spuds are kept in 'graves', that is heaped up earth to keep the light off them.

Hello ladies.
I read somewhere that chilling potatoes increases their starch content which is not a good thing so I now store mine in a cupboard.
Take care.
